1.) Recently a new meditation studio opened up in NYC called INSCAPE. It could be quite interesting to report on for both visuals and audio. As for an angle it would be fun to profile the business and shoot video from the POV of a meditation instructor there. Generally showing how sessions are conducted and what makes them stand out from other studios. It provides a combination of traditional meditation and modern technology. Their studio provides meditation and relaxation experiences, which would provide natural and unique natural sound such as breathing and meditation techniques. Sessions usually take place within “the Dome”, studio space that is designed to be an immersive light and sound environment. Other sessions take place in the “Alcove” which features rotating art exhibitions, which provide a sensory experience for guests. Each would make for unique and pleasing visuals for B-roll.Being that meditation has grown its way into a $1 billion dollar industry and mainstream in our society, it would make an interesting topic to cover.
2.) Another idea I had would be to profile the Leman Manhattan Preparatory School, a private school in NYC. It is the only high school in NYC to have a residential boarding program. Whose overall cost of attendance is around $45,000 per year and boarding tuition estimates at $79,000 per year. These tuition prices exceed that of private Ivy League university’s such as Harvard University. It would be interesting to tour the campus and perhaps obtain a POV from a boarding student or faculty member in order to obtain better insight as to how different and unique the facilities and course offerings are in comparison to other high schools.
