Mathematics has always been my favorite subject. In my junior year of high school, I started researching majors and potential career paths related to mathematics. Applied mathematics picked my interest. Instead of working with abstract numbers, applied mathematics gives the opportunity to use quantitative reasoning to solve real-world problems. After exploring different applied mathematics sectors, I decided to major in Actuarial Science and applied to Baruch college. My career goal is to become an Actuarial Analyst and grow in this field. In this field, I will be able to apply mathematical and statistical methods to financial and risk management problems. Ultimately it will help companies to make business and financial decisions. I am choosing the Actuarial Analyst position because working in the actuarial analysis involves research, the development and implementation of mathematical models, data analysis, general financial knowledge, and many other elements that make this job very stimulating. In this job individual and teamwork are equally important. Since I enjoy working in a team as well as individually, this position is a good fit for me. Majoring in Actuarial Science would not only help me to achieve my professional goal but also help me to achieve my personal goal. This major will literate me financially which is very important in our life. I would be able to make my personal financial decisions more wisely from my college. In this way, I would be less likely to make mistakes while making a financial decision in my life.
I will be maintaining this blog website to keep updated on my research, course work, project, and experience. This website would portray my virtual identity.
