Asians, especially in the Southeast regions, tend to season their cuisine with many different spices. Not only does the spices provide great flavoring; it also provides many health benefits. The tops three Asian spices are coriander, turmeric powder and star anise.
Coriander

The Herbarist claims that coriander is a staple spice in India and other parts of Asia and Europe. Even though coriander is a well-used spice, not everyone knows about the health benefits that coriander provides.
According to OrganicFacts, there are 16 benefits that coriander provides. The top benefits include better skin and more stabilize diabetes and cholesterol levels. The reasons for the abundance of benefits is due to the essential oil, mineral, vitamins and acids that are encompassed inside the herb or spice. These findings were supported in an article from Journal of Essential Oil Research.
Turmeric powder

The Critical Reviews in Food Science & Nutrition states turmeric powder is a spice that is often times used in Indian dishes and medicine. The medical properties that the powder provides is very vast.
According to the HealthLine, Turmeric is enriched with curcumin; a substance that contains anti-inflammatory effects and supplies strong antioxidants. The anti-inflammatory benefits induce many people that got a sprain to consume turmeric powder because it will lessen the swelling and will reduce the pain.
Star Anise

Star Anise is a spice that is native in China and Vietnam. It gets its name due to its star-like shape. It has a very unique “licorice-like flavor,” which makes it “sweet, herby and earthy” (The Spruce Eats).
According to Dr. Axe, Star Anise contains a lot of rich antioxidants, which helps fight off bacteria, the flu and fungai infection. These benefits help individuals to maintain a strong and healthy body. Due to the hardness of the shell, people are unable to physically eat it; instead it is often placed in Asian broth and soup.
