In addition to collecting our institutional history, the Baruch College Archives also focuses their collecting on materials that support programs and subjects taught at the college. We have acquired collections relating to public affairs, New York City history, and the fiscal crisis of the 1970s. These materials attract scholars from the college and beyond.
Several of the collections in the Baruch Archives have blogs of their own. We have “An Adventure in Democracy” which highlights interesting material from the IPA collection, “A City Grows Around Us” with posts concerning topics with supporting materials in the Durst Old York Collection, and this blog “Baruch College Archives and Special Collections” which includes all other areas of the archive.
However, on occasion a post might be equally at home on several blogs. That is the case with the latest post “From Botanical Garden to Rockefeller Center: The Evolution of a New York Christmas Tradition,” which is posted on “A City Grows Around Us.” Enjoy learning about this interesting location in New York City.
Stay tuned for more posts next year!
