Traveling Abroad

Hello my name is Daniel Kershteyn,

One of my favorite passions is to travel. Last summer was the first time I went to Europe and was possibly one of the best vacations of my life. I went on a cruise across Europe that included Monte Carlo, Rome, London, Barcelona, Pizza, and Florence. All these cities offered a different vantage point on how people lived their lives. Plus the food ranged from tasty fish and chips to mouthwatering fresh Italian gelato. I also observed many different sculptures, museums, and parades where I understood why people traveled to Europe. From climbing The Tower of Pisa to watching the changing of the guards in London to swimming in the crystal clear Meditterranean Ocean it brought out excitement and elation in my body that I had barely experienced, where I had 2 questions popping in my head as I boarded the plane back to New York City, “Why couldn’t I stay longer”, and “When is the next time I’ll be back on this wonderful continent.”  As I got into Baruch’s Honor Scholar Program I knew that there would be a good possibility that one day, i could travel abroad to various countries, explore their lifestyles, enjoy authentic food, while studying a subject that interested me. Whether it be skiing on the top of the Swiss Mountains or eating fresh sushi in Tokyo I know that one day at Baruch I will have the opportunity to travel abroad and experience a side of the world that I have never seen before.
