Former Credit Suisse longevity markets desk trader Phat Loc (MFE ’03) joined adMarketplace as VP of advertising matching and pricing. Katerina Korish (MA) has been hired as an international trade specialist for the Washington Spokane Business Development Center’s Spokane Export Center. She previously owned and operated a gourmet wholesale business in Madison, Wis. Celine Ruben-Salama is a business strategist focused on efficiency, technology, and environmental sustainability. She is currently working at American Express, where she is responsible for setting, implementing, and communicating global environmental policy. She teaches green marketing part time at the Zicklin School. The Provident Bank in Jersey City has hired Konstantin Yusipov as area manager, overseeing the Bergen Avenue/Harrison Avenue branch.

During its fifth anniversary celebration in May, Baruch Young Alumni Network (BYAN) recognized Stathis Antonakopoulos with its first BYAN Appreciation Award. Antonakopoulos is the director of operations for Kellari Hospitality Group. Dorothy Graham-Hannah (EMPA) has been promoted to assistant VP of Nursing at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Maya Haddad is co-owner of the Coney Island Beach Shop with her father, Haim. They are expanding the Stillwell Avenue store and renaming it the Brooklyn Beach Shop. Basant Kedia (MBA) has joined First Republic Bank as senior relationship manager in Palo Alto, Calif. He was previously VP in the South Asian Banking Group at HSBC Bank. Allison M. Mitchell (MSEd) was admitted to the PhD program in higher education administration at North Caroline State University at Raleigh, where she serves as director of student involvement/diversity in the College of Education.

Natalie Baghdadi has joined Keller Williams NYC as associate broker of the Bracha Group. A specialist in condominium sales in Manhattan, she was most recently an associate broker for the Bracha Group at Prudential Douglas Elliman. Dawn Goldenberg (MSEd) was one of five teachers in the Pasadena (Calif.) Unified School District honored by the Rotary Club. Warren E. Haynes (MSEd) completed his studies for a Doctor of Public Administration degree at the University of Baltimore. He is currently director of the Advanced Workforce Training Center at Frederick Community College in Maryland. Jonathan Pan, a captain in the U.S. Army, served as the economic development officer for the 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, in southern Afghanistan. He is pursuing an MA in the Department of War Studies, King’s College London.

The Capital City African American Chamber of Commerce has named Madeira Cofield (MPA/NUF) president and CEO. She was most recently president of Washington-based NMC Consulting Group. Daniel Greenhouse (MBA) has been hired as chief global strategist for financial services firm BTIG LLC. He was previously chief economic strategist at Miller Tabak. Shadia Sachedina (MSEd) was appointed interim director of student life at Baruch. She is pursuing her EdD in higher education administration at NYU. Scott Weber (MPA) was appointed deputy director for IT procurement and finance, New York City Department of Correction.

Alex Buran is CEO of Translation Services USA, which he founded in 2002. The New York City–based company has developed and launched innovative translation software (www.translation-services-usa.com). A retirement planning specialist at AXA Advisors, Christine M. Chapple earned a certificate in retirement planning from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The IGB Group, an investor relations and business communications firm, has promoted Michael Cimini (MBA) to managing director and investor relations practice leader. He has been with the company since 2006. Linda Gharib (MBA) is a seasoned marketer with experience partnering with advertising agencies, Fortune 100 companies, and major brand accounts. Until recently, she was in the search marketing division at Microsoft and has since moved to Citigroup. Gharib, who spearheaded the Microsoft Advertising Digital Challenge at Baruch College, is teaching Internet marketing and global business at the Zicklin School part time. Bret Golden (MBA) is executive director and head of Morgan Stanley Electronic Trading’s Canadian business. Kathy Lofton (MPA/NUF) was appointed by Selby County, Tenn., Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, Jr., to the Head Start Policy Advisory Board. Marina Loshak earned a JD from Fordham University School of Law and has begun training for the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG). She was the 2007 recipient of Baruch’s Joel B. Zweibel Pre-Law Honors Award. Tori Rappold (MS) has joined the consumer marketing practice of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, based in the company’s New York headquarters. Prior to this, she was director of public relations at Cynthia Rowley.

Carmine Abbate has been appointed Roma Bank’s chief credit officer, bringing 17 years of commercial credit and risk-management experience to his position. He is also a member of Roma’s asset classification committee, which determines the risk ratings of the bank’s borrowers. Anita Balocating (MPA) joined CUNY Central Office as special assistant to the university associate dean for continuing education and deputy to the senior university dean for academic affairs. Joy L. Pak (MPA) has joined the Dairy Center for the Arts as director of development. She was formerly the major gifts director at Roundabout Theatre Company. Sean Perryman received his JD in May from Vanderbilt University Law School. He works at the Dallas, Tex., headquarters of Haynes & Boone, LLP, and is serving a one-year term on the Vanderbilt Law School Board of Advisors.

Leokadia Makarska-Cermak was the subject of a New York Daily News article featuring her painting Golden Angels Over Lower Manhattan, which commemorated the 9/11 attacks. Matthew Van Houten (MBA) has joined the Zicklin School as a part-time adjunct, teaching entertainment marketing in the Allen G. Aaronson Department of Marketing and International Business. He is a manager of event operations for MTV.
