Just four years old, The Red Pipe Cafe is now facing some heat with music licensing agencies who are claiming that owner Rene David Alkalay cannot allow musicians to perform without proper licenses anymore. A GoFundMe goal of $2000 has been established to help the cause.

Tina Ma, the current owner of Paris Baguette in Rego Park has decided to open yet another location in Forest Hills. Located in the same building as Starbucks, Ma has been banned from serving espresso on the menu as part of a tricky lease clause.

While Fay Da still successfully operates in Forest Hills, Jia Bao bakery has moved in nearby and is serving up Chinese baked goods and authentic cuisine.

 

A Festival Lands in Queens.

Forest Hills’s northern neighbor, Flushing will be seeing a food festival from April 28-29 titled “The World’s Fare” named after the World’s Fair of 1964. It will feature over 100 vendors.

Dedicated Foodies Will Flock to Forest Hills Come October.

The Patch reports that  The Infatuation, a professional food review site, will be hosting NYC’s very first “EEEEEATSCON” food festival. Expect to see local restaurants, music performances, and a food panel. Tickets go on sale June 19.

Roast and Co is Doubling Up in Kew Gardens

Successful Roast and Co will now be adding a second addition to the Kew Gardens area. Opening in either late May or June, the eatery will be posted right outside of the LIRR station, offering their full original menu.

Rosalia’s Pizza–Closed by DOH

Rosalia’s Pizza on Queens Blvd was closed temporarily on May 7th for a failed health inspection. This comes just one year after their opening.

Ramen Rides Into Austin Street

Jhon Cho has just opened his third restaurant, Tamashii Ramen in Forest Hills last week. Authentic ramen and rice bowls will be served up alongside dishes like gyoza.
