Vladek sought another opportunity to support his family while in a time of desperation. His connection to buy items without coupons and sell them; Vladek always found a way to hustle which is skill many of the Jews did not acquire. His family had no money earned by work or their investments due to the Germans taking hold on their businesses. He had a quick mind which allowed him to provide for his loved ones and survive. It was a risky idea to do such illegal dealing but Vladek was always trying to support his family. His intelligence increased the advantages in his favor. But with Vladek, always trying to look out for his family, the action of hiding the elders within his family was absurd. But he had to think of an alternative because he always knew that the Germans were VERY manipulating. They put out a flyer deceiving the elder Jews, initiating they would’ve been living in a luxurious setting. He knew the outcome of such a fantasy they placed, his wife always wanted the family to be together no matter what. So hiding them may have been irrational for the first proposal of the Germans, but luckily the Germans did not find out. But if they did, there would have no more of Vladek and his family. They would’ve been used as an example to other Jews.
