Final Essay-milestone

The area of expertise findings for my goal was not that hard comparing to other students. It was learning and researching about 3D printed jewelry. First of all, as I expected before, there are so many companies that are interested in 3D printing jewelry. I read the article about the first giant Dutch retailer, Hema, announced that they are selling personalized 3D printed jewelry. It is growing fast among 3D printing industries. One of the interesting thing that I learned by writing milestone is that the method for prototyping and tooling have shown massive developments in 3D printing jewelry industry eliminating some of time consuming steps of traditional method. The most popular way of processes is SLA process which is the video that I posted previously. By writing five milestones, I think I accumulated general knowledge of 3D printing jewelry.
My work provokes the question, ‘and then what?’ Well, I am ready to start making and selling it! But, before I start, I am willing to visit Makerbot store in New York City which is located in Mulberry Street, Manhattan, to get the atmosphere of 3D printing environment. Then, I am going to practice how to create 3D design objects by Sketchup more and by Auto CAD student version. Using Shapeways.com is a great way to start sharing and selling my design. Since I know the person, Mohamad, I am going to make an appointment to print out my design to see how it exactly looks like sometime in January. Later in my future, I will create my own business website to sell my 3D printed jewelry and hopefully supply to retail stores, such as Urban Outfitters or Topshop.
