Does Exercise Correlate with Success in School?

This article is about how children who participate in daily exercise are more likely to do well in school.Researchers from The Journal of Pediatrics conducted a study in study with 1200 participants where a child’s physical fitness was compared to their grades in mathematics and English. They surprisingly found that kids who participated in daily exercise could retain information more effectively than those who didn’t. Another similar study by theĀ American College of Sports Medicine concluded that children who exercised intensely before a math test scored higher than those who didn’t. Also this study concluded that weight and body size did not affect the performance of the children’s test scores. What really affected a child’s performance in the classrooms and on exams was the amount of time they spent doing exercise daily and the intensity in which they performed it. This study is significant because we can now conclude that physical activity is not only important for physical for physical well being but also for mental well being. Also now we can say that studying is not the only factor in determining the performance of child in school but that the amount of intense exercise they do is just as important. This study is also important because it gives people another incentive to get their children to do physical daily activity.
