‘PRISONERS’ Review

The New Film ‘Prisoners’ Starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal takes peoples perception of evil and twists it in a scary new way. One iconic line from the film i noticed when i saw it was “He is not a person anymore.” This film is about the abduction of two young girls and a father will to do absolutely anything to get them back. My rating of this movie is 5/5 stars. The acting was incredible from all aspects from the deranged father to the shell of a mother, to the psychotic suspects throughout the film. Hugh Jackman plays Keller Dover who kidnaps the suspect in the abduction of his daughter and torutures him for days with no legitimate proof of his guilt. The reason why this movie impacts its audience is it gives us several other suspects to make us question our judgement on who the criminal really is, this doubt turns this caring father into a person who sanity is questioned as the movie continues. Gyllenhaal also gives a stellar performance as a dark detective, intent on finding these girls while also digging his own hole of depression when he continues to come up short. The whole movie takes place in about 1 week, but its content makes it seems like months. With a gripping ending Prisoners will be and easy must have DVD and probably will be nominated for some awards for best actor and best supporting actor. With its insane twist and constant self questioning in the minds of the audience Evil has a new name, its called Abduction.

“Prisoners” is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). Graphic violence and profanity.
