Originally from North Sumatra, Indonesia, and currently pursuing Entrepreneurship degree at Baruch College. I started exploring business world at the age of 14. From food to clothing businesses, I’ve learned the hard ways to make money while establishing strong relationship with customers and building entrepreneurial experience. I believe every moment of my life is an invaluable opportunity. Life is all about taking risks, and therefore, has no regrets about decisions in the past that made me who I am now. This belief (and way of thinking) has made me mature in terms of handling risks, and has shaped me to not fear of failure.

The idea of this business came from me. I am always a big fan of coconut products, its rich flavor and subtle fragrance. Recently, my brother was suffering from a skin disease, Keratosis Pilaris. This disease is not contagious nor harmful to the physical body ( but people may want to seek treatment for cosmetic reasons). I did an extensive research, and  consulted with several dermatologists, and found out that this disease is more common in adolescents. According to research, KP affects an estimated 40-50% of the adult population and approximately 50-80% of all adolescents. This surprised me, at first, because I rarely encounter people with similar disease on the street or public transportation. To make long story short, I came across with coconut oil as a traditional and an affordable treatment. Many testimonies have claimed that it would actually work, as long as the patient routinely uses it for couple months. After doing a quick research, I discovered that there are only few brands selling it online — Nutiva, VivaLabs, Nature Work, and several unknown brands. And the price of coconut oil is twice expensive as other vegetables or ointment oils. Although some people would rather produce their own coconut oil, the complexity and enduring process just not worth the time.

There comes the light! I decided to produce and market coconut oils at “Eco-efficient” prices, and introduce coconut oil as a consumption for modern diet (not only as a staple for the traditional way). I did not know there are 333 uses and 33 benefits of coconut oil until I’ve done my study. Thereafter, I set the primary goal of this blog is to create awareness of these amazing benefits, and at the same time, introduce my own brand. The only way to achieve these goals (and to bring my business to the next level), is by creating a brick-and-mortar store, and offering various services namely Aromatherapy Massage, and Cafe.
