In the Epic of Giglamesh, there seems to be a considerable amount of homoerotic themes being presented throughout the epic. For modern day readers, we may find it intriguing and “special” that such a theme was present back in this era, however, was it intentionally meant to be perceived this way? Are the themes suggesting homosexuality in Gilgamesh a product of the times (I.e “It’s not gay man, we’re just really good friends dude!”), or a way of spreading acceptance through a story spread across generations?
