The show our Trojan war was a unique show that combined both the ancient Greek and modern society. Unfortunately I was late a bit for the play, so I didn’t get to see the beginning of the play. Based on what I started to see on the play, the soldiers dress in modern outfit are acting as the Greek soldiers. the actors dress up as Muslims are also the prisoners of troy. I didn’t quite enjoy the show due to lack of Greek mythologies background. also, I have noticed there is a switch in languages when the actors go from modern time to ancient Greek time. the construct of switching one time period to the next reminds me of thousand of one nights story transition. The show is also telling us what it is happening for nowadays society and creating a resemblance to ancient Greek time. I also realize the show is not focus on us the audience. The show is focus on the actors. The actors of the show were veterans that serve for the country before. As we all know, mental illness can be only cure with time. To help them to walk out of the traumatic scene, they will need to revisit the scene. I do like the transition from ancient Greek and modern. It just whenever they do that, it makes me confusing to keep track of the stories. My personal feeling about this show was overall not great. Consider I didn’t understand half of the conversations. One thing that was unique is that there were switch of narratives. The perspectives of the story was not limited on one person, but almost every character. I do like their details on the customs. The actors also had a really good synchronization, probably got that from military. If we take a closer look into their eyes, we know that they have been through some tough times. They look really tired/scar in a way that it let us the audience know war can change a person massively. Overall, I think it is a great show that helps the veterans.
