Our Trojan War

Our Trojan War is a show that through the ancient Greek society finding modern society question—what is the democracy, “What is our Trojan War Today? What enemy must we fight to preserve our freedoms?”  Democracy as the theme run through the whole play, but to be honest, I don’t really enjoy this play like last time when we watched the play “Everybody”. Even though I think Our Trojan War is a very good show just like the synopsis writes, “” Leadership, justice, knowledge, the marginalized, and democracy as a whole are all explored through a mix of ancient works set against the modern-day experiences of war”. And, most of the actors were real soldiers, they put themselves into this play totally, because as a soldier, how was war mean to him, is never experience by people who was born in modern society. I am quite confused for some plots that from an even to the other without any introductions. For example, I don’t know much about the ancient Greek history, without introducing the background of ancient Greek, I don’t understand what is the clash of god and heroes, and Why Achilles becomes so angry. Maybe because I don’t really understand a lot of their conversations.  But there is no doubt that classical texts are very important for them, even more important than their lives. I think that’s because these texts mean knowledge, and they encourage a deeper level of understanding what is requirement for people, and why people must to fight for their freedom, because people all don’t like war, war means we must face to life and death.  Even though I kind of confuse for some plots, these actors though their facial expressions, movement, expression, tone, etc, to show for us that how they preserve and protect the democracy that they have.
