How would you define innovation? Innovation nowadays is used very casually in companies. Every company tries to showcase themselves as an innovative company and every applicant emphasizes on them being very innovative. But it feels more like the word innovation is very overused and its purpose is not fulfilled.
Innovation does not mean coming up with a new or creative idea all the time. For me innovation means outside the box thinking. It could be a new idea, something that does not currently exist or it could also simply be an idea of doing something that already exists in a better, more efficient way. Innovation could be an improvement in a current system, anew way of doing things or it could also be introducing something new entirely. In basic sense, innovation simply implied to thinking differently from the conventional mindset.
I like this definition a lot, Saad. Innovation is so inherently vague because of how many ways there are to be innovative. Not boxing it in, and keeping it to a mindset of simply “thinking differently” is a great way to open one’s mind to the endless possibilities of innovation.
