English 2100 Fall 2023: What Goes Unsaid?

Introductory Post

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Brianna Lapomarel, but of course you can just call me Kaitlyn. A nickname I often tend to use Kaity, so feel free to call me whichever name works for you! Both names work just fine for me! My pronouns are She/Her. I grew up in the Bronx for all my life, my earlier years being spent in Cambridge Avenue and later on I moved to Castle Hill. My father is Haitian, he was born in the capital of Haiti; Port-au-Prince. My mother on the other hand is a mix of Ecuadorian and Dominican, and she was born right here in this amazing city. I absolutely love living in New York City. Like most of the rest of you, I am a freshman at Baruch College and I am extremely excited to be attending this wonderful college as an accounting major. This college was actually my first pick for schools, so as soon as I saw my acceptance notice I was ecstatic! Baruch is actually the largest school I have ever attended, as all my life I have attended smaller private Catholic schools! I am still 17 years old as of writing this post, I have a late birthday on September 13th. My birthday makes my zodiac sign a Virgo if anyone is interested in horoscopes! My favorite color is pink, all different shades and versions! I really like spicy foods, I also like a lot of sweet drinks. I am not a coffee drinker, I prefer tea. My hobbies include playing various video games. A few of my favorite mobile games are currently Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Ensemble Stars, Project Sekai, Twisted Wonderland and many more! I also am an avid anime watcher and manga reader, and I think to date I have read over 500 different manga! I also love creative writing and creating my own worlds and characters. English has always been my favorite subject in school, with math coming in as a close second! I am hoping my journey as a Bearcat takes me far into the world of accounting, as I am seeking to take the CPA exam (Certificated Public Accountant) at the end of this journey. I hope to learn a lot from all the amazing professors here in Baruch, and I am just so excited to be here with you all! Here I’ve included a picture of myself, which is a selfie that I took with my dog, Franklin.

  1. Welcome Kaitlyn. It’s good to have you with us. Baruch was also my first choice.
There is no greater feeling than drinking soda. I sometimes wonder if anything ever compares to that first sip of soda.
