Blog Post #14: Critique

What could I have done better as a teacher this semester? Please be honest (but not outright mean). I have blind spots and I am not perfect, and it is good for you to tell me what I might have done differently to help you more.

  1. You’re one of the best teacher I’ve had so far. I had an amazing time in your class this semester. I literally have no feedback. (This comment is written with 100% honesty).

  2. The teachers and professors I have so far didn’t teach me much. Most of my professors/teachers only give the students the material for the class and expect the students to teach themself. You care about whether the students understand the topics taught in class. This class is fun and interesting compared to my other classes. The question on this blog is hard to answer because I cannot think of anything you could have done better this semester. The only thing I think can be done differently is we could spend some time learning or reviewing text analysis.

  3. To be honest, I have no complaints about this class. As I already stated in my last blog post, this was the only class in which I did not feel bored. I had a great time learning a lot of new topics, and the teaching method is quite enjoyable. I would have taken the class again if you were still teaching next term.

  4. To be really honest, you’re one of the professors in this semester that actually teaches the materials and cares about the students. Most of the professors I have met expect students to learn the materials beforehand and they will review the topics in class as if you already know the materials. This class is very enjoyable. The class is well balanced between having fun and learning about how to write academy papers.

  5. Actually, I don’t know how to answer this question. You are the best professor I have met so far. You took this class seriously and taught us as much as you can. Also, you balanced the course well so that I did not feel bored about the class. I do not have critiques for you. I really enjoy your class.

  6. Throughout this semester, your form of teaching kept the interest of the class. It was never tiresome to go the extra mile. As I have much to learn, there is little that can be said to what you could have done differently to help. This class has certainly been great in supporting my other classes in being a better writer, but this class was the most honest and reliable to improve myself. By being totally honest and truthful this entire semester, you were being frank.

  7. Throughout the semester, you’re the best professor I have had. The feedback you provided was useful, which allowed me to know what I had to improve and why I got this grade.

  8. To be honest, I have no complaints about this class. In this class, I never felt bored or tired. I learned many new things about writing papers in an easier way from you. Thank you frank for being frank.

  9. You are one of the best teachers I ever have. Your style of teaching is interesting, and I have learned skills that I can apply in my future assignments. I would not say this is what you need to improve the class, but I would love to have more grammar lessons. Sometime you point out grammatical errors on my paper, but I really do not know how to fix it or I do not see the error at all (no matter how hard I “stare” the sentence). So, it would be nice to learn the rules before writing a paper, but because the lack of time, I know it is impossible to do so. Overall, I enjoyed the class. Thank you!

  10. Overall the class was very organized as everything was written in the syllabus. But there is one suggestion I have, which was about the pop quizzes. I think it might be better to announce when the quiz are going to be before the day, which students could get more prepared for it.
