I strongly believe the history African-American history of music topic has never really been changed at all, not only is it more and more relevant then ever it’s becoming more of a thing to have African-American artist to rap, sing, dance and even act these issues out. The issue of us not being heard and seen by others and how we can uplift each other of all races to get to where we need to be without having to control one another for the benefit for the individual. Initially these songs where made to express something soulful and deeper then ever before, a different kind of vibe and energy that people of not just one race but to many races that could relate to what was being said and to be able to pass that on for generations to come in a much more modern way as time progresses is really the core essence of it all. To have it all taken away by the white man and reproduced in a manner that isn’t original at all they simply need to stop looking at African-Americans as there quick ticket to success, there’s no such thing and even if there is, they are bound to pay a hefty price for it all once people start noticing this work isn’t theirs to begin with. The main two takeaways I’ve learned from the article and the videos is simple. One being to always do your research on people that approach to use your work for their own financial gain, if it’s too good to be true then it prolly isn’t. All the glitter and appearance for they say to you is actually the complete opposite they just don’t see you as a partner but more as a tool to help elevate themselves and the company they work for. The second takeaway is to build a group of people you can go to that is trustworthy and reliable with the work you produce as an artist, actor, etc. People need a circle of those that can will have their back especially when it comes to putting something to the public in a way that is more authentic then others. Remaining true to yourself and the work you do and people you attract is best way to go about dealing with people who just simply want to ride the wave before it crashes down and there no longer there to support you and your dreams because they were only thinking about themselves.
