In the beginning of the semester I was concerned about my english course. English is not my strong suite when it comes to writing.  However, after having the first few zoom sessions I feel at ease. I have been given more than enough resources and I intend on taking advantage. My intention for this class is to greatly improve my writing. By the end of this semester I would like to be able to put my thoughts in writing with ease. I also intend on increasing the use of my vocabulary as well as adding to my vocabulary. I would like to have more sophisticated writing. Professor Gordan, in order to help me excel, I would value your input on my essays, and what you think I can do to improve my writing/wording, my transitions, or anything at all that you think will make an impact in my writing. I greatly appreciate the way you, professor, explain in detail how you would like our major assignments done as well as the low stake assignments. What makes me most excited is the theme for this class. I have never had an english class with a theme and if you have told me about it earlier I would not have thought that it would be this intriguing. Music is a theme that we can all relate to and can be a great controversial topic. I’m anxious to hear what my classmates have to say on the music choices that we each pick. One of the assignments I am most looking forward to is the Creative Remix assignment. There are endless possibilities to choose from and in my opinion will be the most non-restrictive project. I foresee many obstacles that can impact all my classes at the moment. Since this is my first semester I wasn’t able to choose my classes. I have class Monday to Thursday, I work the night shift at the FedEx warehouse, and I live with my mom and my two younger siblings. I was lucky enough to cut a couple of my days out from work to focus on school however, I still don’t feel like that is enough. It could be because we just moved into a new house and there is so much to do that I may be overwhelmed. Maybe when all the house “to do’s” are over I will feel content. In order to get my priorities in order when it comes to class work, I write down all my homework and I usually start it during the break I have between classes. I also have a color coordinated calendar that helps me remember all my assignments. Unless something comes up, I try to get homework done much earlier than the due date. I know that my education will always come first so if I have to take a break from work until the summer, then that is what I must do to endure good grades in all of my classes.
