Blog #1 -Intentions By: Aboubacar Fofana

My intentions for this semester English and Music class is to further evolve my writing and reading skills, as an activity I have friend and his name his Sean. To get to the point me and Sean perform daily writing prompts every night and it inspires to really dig deep within ourselves to figure what it is we would like to put to paper or iPhone notes. Afterwards, we would share what we both written from the prompts to just know exactly what we are thinking about most times we’re not in agreeance and other times we are. It’s challenging and fun environment I look forward to performing after a long day of just doing what I need to do to get to my goals day by day.  There are days I don’t want to do the prompts from just being tired but I remind myself that I’m not here to be mediocre even if I’m on the brink of losing my life I can’t and refuse to stop until the task at hand is completed then I’ll rest afterwards. Most people view this as being something out the ordinary and it’s true I don’t see myself as an ordinary person so I rather practice and perform just as if this is a life threatening situation. Even through the good and bad days I stay mindful and do activities to ensure my mind is right  day by day so I remain focused. I’m looking forward to the criticism for whatever it is I do for this class or my other classes, that’s how I will achieve greatness so will my peers. Going back and forth to take notes from the essays we’ll be writing in the future is how we will achieve greatness without having our egos interfere with it. They’ll be moments when our emotions will take over from outside stress and will be taken out towards our peers so I encourage all of us to take a step away for a few minutes and breath when we do feel stressed from writing these essays and other areas in your life then jump back into action with a more calm mind and body. I simply hope to just apply what I learn from this class and apply to different areas that aren’t exactly related to this. I am a firm believer we become masters at we pursue as long as we don’t keep our mind and ideas to just one area that we all know too well. I don’t exactly know how writing will be applied to the game of basketball, modeling and other things as well for me, but trust I’ll figure it out because I know somewhere down the line you’ll figure it out as well for your own career.

( Feel free to leave comments on what I can work on to further improve my writing as the semester progresses down the line)  😉
