I had a lot of ideas for my project but I knew I wanted to do something with art. At first, I was thinking of a podcast with animation but to record the podcast and edit it was already real time-consuming. That paired with animating would be a hassle to finish. Then I thought about doing physical album covers with glass but that didn’t seem to transition seamlessly with the research paper. My final idea was to digitally draw an album cover with the people I interviewed and the artist. With that idea, I could be more creative and it also connected with my essay better. I already had the tools to start and I wouldn’t have to learn anything in order to progress. I started off by texting my friends for their motivational song lyrics and their artist and it was a really easy process. They all got back to me within 10 minutes. Then I just asked them each for a picture of themselves that they wanted to use as well as a picture of the artist that they wanted to use. It took me about an hour and change to do each album cover and as I was drawing them I listened to the songs that were suggested just to see if I could relate, or if I got something from it. I did enjoy it though. I also talked to my friends more about what the lyrics helped get them through and I actually learned a lot about them from that.I still have more people to interview as well as write the reflection paper.
