Choose one or two music videos (any that you want) and perform a visual analysis of them using the skills we learned in class. First, discuss the music and lyrics, then discuss how the video enhances the storytelling of the song. Describe the video: what are the elements you can see? Is there a narrative shown in the film? Does the video challenge your initial impression of the song, or add new impressions that weren’t there when you just heard the song? What is the historical and cultural context of the song and video? 

Your essay should have a clear thesis statement. You may use the first person (“I”) but most of the essay should focus on your analysis, rather than on your opinions.
