Assignment 6
“The Lamb” by William Blake took my attention when I first read through it, the poem was written in such a way that the questions are being asked and the answers are being given, I found it really interesting because the poet honors Lord Christ who was blameless and unadulterated like a kid and tame and gentle like a sheep. Its first stanza is enlightening and country, the second focuses on dynamic profound matters and comprises of similarity and clarification. By offering responses to his own inquiry, the child prevails with regards to changing over it into an expository one, therefore countering the underlying unconstrained feeling of the poem. In the first stanza readers are furnished with a genuine representation of a sheep. In the poem, the offspring of blamelessness more than once asks the sheep concerning who made him. The child delivers Little Lamb to ask him who made him and needs to discover whether he realizes who made him. The youngster needs to realize who gave the Lamb his life, who took care of him while living along the stream on the other said of the knoll , leading back to the nature of God’s creation.
Assignment 4
The way the poem was written was a little difficult to comprehend at first, but it started to make more sense as I kept moving forward. Pope’s poem is connected to the scientific revolution in a manner that the motivation behind the sonnet is to address the role of people, it talks about man as only one little piece of an incredibly perplexing universe. Furthermore, he talks about how there is no right or wrong way to do anything, and that whatever somebody considers correct, is correct or wrong. Pope encourages us to gain based on what is around us, what we can notice ourselves in nature. He emphasizes on how we shouldn’t interfere in God’s business or question his methodologies; For all that occurs, both great and awful, occurs for a reason and with a purpose. I believe scientific exploration makes it easier to understand as to why things happen, like why something exists or how it happened. Having boundaries on scientific exploration in my opinion is foolish because the more that is explored the easier it makes for us and for the upcoming generations to make sense of everything that is happening around us, exploration uncovers perceptions for what they are, to mention associations among thoughts and observable facts, and to sort out which questions can be productively handled with accessible apparatuses. In the end pope encourages the peruse on the best way to get however many endowments as could be expected under the circumstances, regardless of whether that be on earth or in the great beyond. He underlines the way that genuine euphoria must be capable through an acknowledgment of one’s fundamental shortcomings and that really got me thinking of how we as individuals keep denying/ hiding our weaknesses.
Assignment 3
The short story by Ueda Akinari “bewitched” illustrates how a beautiful woman comes in the form of a devil to satisfy her sexual longing and targets Toyo-o, a good-looking young man. I chose this image because it represents three priests and how they are trying to fight the serpent, the first priest that came when they were out on a picnic successfully saved Toyo-o and warned him “That devil is really a huge old serpent—a lecherous monster. It mates with a bull and begets a freak calf … its evil attachment to its victims is so tenacious that you must be constantly on your guard. Otherwise you will lose your life” page 644. Toyo-o was constantly told that he needs to be more purposeful, valiant and should never respect allurements of enthusiasm and desire. Then, Toyo-o got married to beautiful girl named Tomiko and soon enough he realized that he had been bewitched yet again, as it came to his attention that the words spoken by her were very similar to Manago and that too in her voice that is when the second priest is called upon for help but as soon as he opens the door to go to her she spats poison on him and he dies. After this Toyo-o decides to give himself in to the serpent and finish this for once and all, but his father in law thought that was weakling of him that’s when the third priest ,Hokai Osho is asked for help, he explained Toyo-o how he had to cover the serpent with a sacred surplice and push with all his force until there is no movement anymore. The story has a happy ending where Toyo-o leads a very peaceful and healthy life.

Introduction
Hello, my name is Minahil Imtiaz. I am a transfer student from LaGuardia Community College. I was born in New York. I enjoy being with my family the most, after completing my associate degree in science I planned on going to Baruch to get my bachelor’s degree in finance. One of my strongest strength I would say is my attitude towards every challenge in life, I like to believe as if I CAN do it, I take success and failure in a balanced manner. I always feel like there is space for improvement, taking control of things and requiring perfection in everything is what keeps me going. I enjoy cooking and baking in my free time, organization and interior decorating are hobbies I enjoy doing the most. After my graduation from Baruch, I plan on obtaining a master’s degree in finance. However, I am certain that I would never achieve my career goals without my college degree. I am trilingual, aside from knowing English I also know how to speak and write Urdu and Punjabi. Being a person who gets affected by her surroundings deeply I try to keep my circle small and full of positive energy. I’ve happened to be surrounded by such practical, cooperative, and intuitive mentors who have taught me lessons that I will hold on to forever. One of the simplest and most important of them being celebrating little things, small achievements making yourself happy. Celebrating the moments that are being experienced now instead of worrying about what tomorrow brings.
