Bewitched Assignment Simran Sharif
This image corresponds to “Bewitched” by Aknari is the gender roles in the Japanese culture. Women where not valued as men where in the Japanese culture. For the women characters in the story was the demon Mangago and the maid Maroya and Toyo-o’s wife Tomiko. They all have significant roles in the story but are not given names. An example of value of lack in women is when Toyo-o defeated Manago and Tomiko was released from the demon’s possession. Tomiko became ill and died and Toyo-o didn’t get ill but lived a long healthy life. The only crime that Tomiko had was her relationship with Toyo-o and was punished. Manago bewitched Toyo-o which wasn’t his fault. Manago encounter with Toyo-o he knew that she was supernatural. The second encounter he chooses to accept her excuses and be in a relationship with her. The characters in the story that will deserve a punishment is it should have been Toyo-0.
Introduction Paragraph
Hi my name is Simran Sharif. I am a student at Baruch college. I live in New York from the beginning. I graduated high school in June 2018. My major is Computer Information Systems. I love using technology. My favorite device of technology is the phone. I like being on my phone using Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube. I love all these social media apps. My hobbies are making videos for fun and watching them myself or with my family. I also love photography. I like taking pictures of nature, views by the park, neighborhood pictures and I love taking pictures of myself. I use my phone to take photos of scenery and nature or any other beautiful views that I see. A text that made a lasting impression on me is Matilda. Matilda stuck to me by seeing how she use your mind and body to show the powers she had. I thought I could do the same like Matilda and when I try to it didn’t work because I don’t have magic powers like Matilda does. This text has changed my perspective of the world by magic powers are not real and they are just a trick to the mind. Its like what you see and you believe that it works when it actually doesn’t. A family is meaningful to me. I love my family so much they have supported me with anything that I need help with and always there for me when I need them. I am grateful for my family and I am super happy to have them by side. If their was no family it will be very hard to navigate and get the support system you need. Family is super important to a person and without family everything will be so lost and no one to be guided by. I am grateful for my family and will always be grateful.
