Hello, I am Md Asif. I am third year student in Baruch. I am currently majoring in CIS and minoring in Political Science. After taking my major related class, I’ve realized that I don’t really enjoy CIS. I am planning to change it. I have been a SEEK Math tutor for over a year now and I really enjoy my responsibility there. If things go right, I would like to teach math as a professor someday. Outside academics, I love photography, film making and traveling. My wife and I visit different states to take pictures and make travel videos. It’s our dream to someday open a production studio.
Now let’s talk little bit about my origin. I was born and raised in Bangladesh. My mother tongue is Bengali. I did not speak or learn any other languages until my family, and I moved to USA in 2014. I struggled to communicate for the first three years. Everyone assumed that I was an introvert (not that anything is wrong with being an introvert). Then I met my music teacher who helped me in breaking out of that shell. He still calls me at least once a month to ask how I am doing.
One of my worst habits are procrastination and it increased exponentially after everything became online. But it is getting better since everything has started to become normal again.
Books that I have ever read, did not have huge impact on me. But I have been watching Naruto since I was young. The characters of the anime gave me lots of motivation as a child and even now. The center of the show is an orphan child who is hated by everyone in his village. And the reason of that hatred is the demon fox sealed within the boy. To earn everyone’s respect and acknowledgement, he decides to walk on a path to become the Hokage, the leader/care take of the village. He is shown to fail many times, but he never gives up. This character’s will to not give up really pushes me when time is rough. There had been times when I felt like dropping out of college. Then I just go couple of good Naruto arcs, and it gives me the motivation to keep going.
Thanks for the time you took to read my response.
Hi Md – I was surprised to hear you refer to your wife. I had no idea you were married! Were you married when you were my student as a freshman? In any case, I am glad to see you again and pleased to hear that you are enjoying your work as a tutor. Obviously, I am biased, but I think education is one of the most rewarding careers around!
Hi Md Asif, I am really happy to read that Naruto had an impact on your childhood because I really loved watching it and it’s definitely helped me in ways too. I hope your dreams of opening a production studio with your wife gets fulfilled and its nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you Md, I’m also a fan of Naruto. So happy to hear this amine could keep you going on your own path. Never give up is the main idea of Naruto and you know it very well. Hopefully, your and your wife’s dream will become true one day as Naruto being Hokage.
