Hey Everyone, my name is Zain Ur Rehman, and I am a transfer student from LaGuardia College. I am a Finance major and hopefully when I am done with my bachelor’s in finance, I will prepare to give my CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exam. I was born in New York but raised in Pakistan which is in Asia. I came back to New York when I was 17 years old in September of 2018. I prepared for my TASC exam, which is a high school equivalency exam at LaGuardia, and at the same time I was enrolled in a program called College Now which is basically a college course you can take before enrolling in any CUNY college. By the time I got my high school degree, I also had 3 college credits and I decided to go to LaGuardia as I was already familiar with the facility. My major at LaGuardia at first was Computer Science but I was having trouble with it, so I talked to a very close friend of mine and she asked me why don’t I change my major to accounting or finance as I already have strong background in it, before coming to New York, I did O Levels in Pakistan and my majors were Business, Economics and Accounting. And now we both go to Baruch and our majors are the same, finance and she might just be in this course. One of my strong beliefs in life is that everything happens for a reason and if something doesn’t work out for you, it is probably for your own benefit and this belief has helped me get through so many hard times and is the reason why I am never stressed out or worried because everything works out at the end of the day for my own benefit.
Zain, Lucky you to never be stressed out or worried; that kind of calm is a wonderful asset to have. Welcome to Baruch!
Hey Zain, it looks like you have a clear view of where you’re headed and that’s great . its great to know someone with similar interests as mine I am planning to do my CFA exams after I graduate from Baruch as well. It was great getting to know you best of luck for the rest of the semester , I hope you achieve all that you desire.
