Somebody’s watching

Since the beginning of act one Hamlets tone is bitter, he knows something went wrong. The death of his father was only but a month ago and yet his mom has  now engaged in sacred matrimony with his uncle. But Hamlet must be  a good son and adhere to his moms wishes and stay quiet and take his part in the kingdom. His weird premonitions that he has felt in his gut since the tragic occurrence of his dads demise were only more awakened as his friend Horatio tells him about his eventful evening on which he saw the former king  Hamlets dad as a ghost. So they set to meet at midnight to see if these visions they see are real and to confirm these weird feelings that hamlets has been having. After a sad and heart throbbing conversation Hamlet can now weep for cause and plan his vengeance for his dad the former king was murdered and the blood that slowly poured out of his Dads  dead corpse shall be avenged.

  1. The story of Hamlet teaches us the universal sad facts of life. The murder by King’s brother was detected by the young Hamlet. That implies a wrongdoing will be always exposed at some point. The young Hamlet also eventually died right after the revenge. A revenge will be never rewarded, and a tragedy brings another tragedy.

  2. After all characters exeunt, but Hamlet, his soliloquy tone sounds very chagrined, which I can feel his disappointment also anger at his mom who gets married his uncle about months after his dad passes away . I wasn’t able to feel Hamlet’s tone when I read the text, but it was much vivid when I watch a film of it. The Queen neither seem sad for her husband anymore nor awkward being with her new husband, who is her first husband’s brother. I also feel that not only at his mother, Hamlet also is enraged at his uncle’s attitude pretending himself is a genuine king and treating the Queen, Hamlet’s mom, as she is originally his wife. Those two conspirators’ behavior is too natural as if themselves were originally that people, and that is enough for Hamlet to change his anger to doubt.

  3. Losing a parent is never an easy situation to deal with. Now having an uncle becoming a step father is another hard thing to swallow. These types of situations can only make one feel depressed. In this case, Hamlet is put in a horrible situation where he has to deal with the death of his father and that his mother already replaced his beloved father just within weeks. How can someone be at peace when “unhealthy” decisions are made? Hamlet can only be confused and doubt his mother and uncle motives. Queen Gertrude’s behavior is definitely questionable and her actions as a widow, mother is completely insensitive. Something to take in consideration and that seem important is the fact that Hamlet and his loyal friend Horatio both see and hear the ghost of King saying that he cannot rest in peace with the union of his widow and brother.
