I graduated Baruch in 2007 with a degree in English and Journalism. Since this was prior to the 2008 crash, work prospects were promising, and I embarked on a career in start-up digital media and marketing. I was in the NYC start-up scene for the next 5 years, when I realized that the space had become over-saturated. Thanks to wine and LinkedIn quick apply, I applied to a position as a Salesforce (CRM) consultant, and have been working in software consulting ever since. I’m currently a Salesforce Solutions Engineer, which is a confusing title. It’s a mix of designing the Salesforce platform, running discovery sessions, doing sales demoes, user training, and all the presentation/functional duties for which a background in creative has proved indispensable.
