Eating food from a cart off the street is not something many people would find appetizing, but for a New Yorker, it’s a staple. Being a college student who has to pay tuition, books, and other bills – eating out at restaurants and getting Starbucks everyday is not an option. So where do Baruch students go to get a quick and easy meal between classes? The carts across Baruch’s 25th street plaza is your best bet.

The plaza, having opened a little less than a year ago in December 2012, has become one of the major hang out spots at Baruch College. The variety of these food carts ranges from coffee and bagels to a Greek gyro to Korean Kimchi soup, but whether you’re eating Schnippers, a dollar slice Mike’s Pizza, or chicken over rice – the owners of these carts are around, seeing everybody go through the motions of college and this article explains why you should get to know who these people are as well.

Alex, the owner of Alex’s Corner, agrees with students when they say that they are happy to be at Baruch. Many feel that having carts around the school is perfect because food carts are just a part of the New York City culture. Not only can you find the carts around the Baruch College campus, they are also in places like Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Some think it’s dirty, but a lot keep coming back, so save some money and fill your tummy with some of the great carts around Baruch College!
