Unsure —– Stephanie Hou: Post 1

I saw this today and thought it was interesting and trust me, it has nothing in it that needs to be censored ( Damn picture). When reversing words or sentences, a different meaning can come out. Who would have thought? So if you take all those meaningless songs and reverse them, perhaps they will have meaning or would they still be corrupting?

Honestly, I looked at other posts and I don’t have a playlist I listen to a lot or photo slides or anything else like that. I don’t really get attached to much and mostly go with the flow. I don’t really take pictures of events and post them anywhere. I let other people do that. I have never really blogged before so I’m not really too comfortable about it. Well, maybe as time goes by, I’ll get the hang of it and find something good to write about.

Greetings,I am Tiffany Huang.

Well, I have showed this to a couple of friends on Facebook and they said it was quite accurate. I will take their word for it. I’m a strange person aren’t I? I’m shy but I’m also outrageously wild. I’m over-dramatic but also apathetic. My character is full of contradictions! But don’t worry; I haven’t been diagnosed with bipolar disorder…yet! In most cases, if I don’t feel comfortable, I’ll be on the quiet and shy side.  If I do feel comfortable, and it does take me a while to get used to things, I’ll be more vocal and excited about things.

You can say that my personality leans towards both sides of extremity. However, I think it is a matter of my comfort level at the situation. In high school, I had to struggle for the longest time to make friends. It wasn’t until senior year that I had found friends who cared and liked me for who I am (or at least I hope they did!).

The internet is a world where anyone can retain some degree of anonymity. Even though people know it’s me behind that username, I’ve been told that I act like a completely different person, more vocal, excited, and sometimes weird.

As a result of my timidity and perhaps even reluctance to step outside of the box in real life, I’ve turned to the digital arts to get attention and express myself. That would also explain why senior year was the best year in my high school career — my major started learning about Flash animation and other fun digital arts. So in my animation, I decided to reflect on my personality and turn it into my subconscious mind’s documentary about me!

My character cannot be summarized in just one word alone. I act on both sides of extremes, because life would just be boring if everything took the middle road. In my personal blog, I described myself as, “I am merely the ordinary, the different, the extraordinary. I am a different kind of wallflower”. This is who I am; I have many layers of dimensions. Take it or leave it.

Jasmit Singh- Post One

My slideshow- http://picasaweb.google.com/101000840145544469195/FroBlog1?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCJK-_u_xnt-1HQ&feat=directlink

My name is Jasmit Singh, and to sum up my slideshow, I am a boy who’s nationality is Indian, and who enjoys to play basketball and eating cookies; I am a studious boy who has ambitions of working on wall street and I play the bongos! Actually no, that isn’t who I am. I am unique and I’m not your average Joe. I am an American-born Sikh who still values his background culture of India. The bongos mentioned before are called a Tabla, a traditional instrument used in India in which I taught my self to play. The table is an instrument in which I express my self. It shows that I value my Indian culture as much as my American culture. Like your average American Joe, I love to eat cookies and play and watch sports, but unlike others I also wear a turban and am proud of it. In one of the pictures, I am wearing a sweatshirt that says, “United as One” on it. That is what I believe we as Americans are and it’s apart of my mindset. No matter how different we may seem, I believe that we are one. My slideshow also shows that I like to play basketball and also that I am student. But I chose those pictures because I want to convey the idea of hard work. I value hard work and I try my hardest at anything I do. I hope to work hard enough one day that I achieve my goal of working on Wall Street. But to conclude, one word that I describe myself that is shown in all of my pictures is that I am different, we all are.

here’s my life

Hello everyone!

As you may know, I am Carina Cybele Verzosa.. FRO peermentor! You all can call me Cybele/ Carina whichever one works (preferably Cybele). Here is a picture  slideshow of almost recent pictures of myself (except for a few) and they all have a story! First one is a meme and I picked that because I love to laugh and anything humorous! If you can guess what the first picture says then you get 10 pts of recitation! JKJK! The next ones are just a compilation of pictures with my family, friends and my lion! (Yeah he’s a lion because he’s a leo and for some reason I’m a turtle…. The group picture was taken last semester and Ascend’s end of the semester Banquet! We had food, partied stayed up all night and went home! It was my first time staying up with friends and not going home! (Happiest time of my life.. Sadly… but also the most irritating because I was walking in heels the entire time -_-) Second to the last is a picture of sushi! I absolutely love food and this one is one of my favorites! I had it for the first time last Sunday, it’s called Valentine’s Sushi! Going back to food and how I love eating… There is only 1 type of food that I hate. When I say hate I mean that I would rather be buried alive and served to sharks (knocks on wood) than eat BITTERMELON!! God I hate the stuff …..

OK ok! I’ve written a lot about myself now, let me write one last  thing! It’s about the final picture, yesssssss!!! I wanted to show you how I looked when I was 4!! Look at that uniform!!! So cute!!! JK that’s my sister….

JK that’s me XP !

Final Words: Thank you for taking the time to read this/ not! Thank you for taking the time to reading your peers’ blogs!! I will be reading all of your blogs!!

I am a very weird person in many ways. I don’t show my weirdness in the public because people will definitely freak out. I only show it in front of my parents and my close friends. I like to scare my dad by hiding behind the door. I like to trick my friends even when it is not April Fool’s Day. Anyway, besides that I am weird, I am also a very emotional person. Whenever I watch a touching movie, I am always the first one to tear before my friends do. I even cry when the scene is not even very touching. I don’t know; I just get emotional sometimes. Writing is my worst enemy. I hate almost all types of writing: long research papers, essays, and even a short mini paragraph. For those of who don’t really know me, I do laugh a lot. I have the weirdest laughter. I like to be super organized. If things are not in their designated place, I will get frustrated. I guess I have some kind of OCD. One bad thing that I don’t like about myself is that I think too much. I always tend to overthink about everything and anything; I like to daydream. Mopping is my most hated house chore. I don’t know why I hate it. I guess sometimes you just hate something for no apparent reason. Lastly, I like to stay home for most of the time. Sometimes I rather stay home and watch movies instead of going out and eat. I am a typical home girl.

This slideshow is a compilation of a few of my photos that I have taken throughout the year and gives you some insight of who I am. Photography is my hobby and I go out and take pictures whenever I have free time. I mostly take pictures of trains, buses, anything transit-related, and anything that I find interesting, mostly clouds. Traveling is what I usually do on weekends and vacations, exploring new places around the city that I’ve never been to before. And yes, I bring my camera almost everywhere, because you never know when a good picture is ready to be taken. I enjoy spending time with my close friends from high school, going to the city, going to the park, sharing conversations while walking through the streets of Queens or anywhere around the five boroughs. One of the sports I play to keep in shape is handball and I play whenever I see a free handball court in the park. I’m not really a competitive person so I play for fun and enjoy playing with others who just play for fun, and not to see whose better. Well, here’s a glimpse of who I am, and what I like to do. Hopefully there are some within the Baruch community who share similar interests, such as transit, handball and photography.

Fro Playlist

This playlist is a collection of a few of the songs which evoke emotion in me. A lot of the songs I wanted to include were too underground to be found on Spotify but that’s alriiiight. Anyway, music for me isn’t just something to listen to. It is like my therapist. If I’m sad, I don’t talk to anyone, I just pop in my headphones and forget the world. This is possible for me because I store my memories, thoughts and feelings into the music I listen to. Literally, each song for me is like a file. When I “open” this file, or play it, memories come rushing back. I think this is why I rarely show any emotion to people. I only access it when I listen to music and it stays strictly with me (myself?). “Shelter” provides me with something that I can relate to in more ways than one. “That Power” has an awesome story at the end of it and I LOVE the way Donald Glover tells it. “Intro” just sounds amazing as background music for my life; I let it repeat for hours!  Baths’ song reminds me of carefree, colorful summer nights, the good old times. “You and I” is the softer and more playful side of me.
