My favorite workshop that my freshman seminar class attended was the LGBTQIA workshop.  Being that Baruch is such a culturally diverse school I think this workshop was very important.  People do not realize that the joke they say even though may be funny at times, can really hurt someone around them.  I myself along with my classmates are all guilty at one point in our lives at making a racial or ethnic joke.  But we now know that even though people laugh, someone may actually be hurting inside.  I am a strong believer in human rights so I fully supported everything in this presentation, what a person chooses to pursue in his or her life should 100 percent be up to them and no one else should be allowed to judge their life choices.

College is all about making choices and sacrifices.  Adjusting to college can be somewhat difficult because it is definitely a change from high school.  In college it you become more independent, teachers are not there for you as much because they have thousands of students unlike in my high school where there was only about 900 kids in total.  So the work load and responsibilities relies on you only.  That is where sacrifices come into play, you have to learn to give up sleep or a social life sometimes in order to be able to get good grades and finish all of your work.  Especially now when finals are extremely close, I can feel my stress level rising just thinking about all of the work that I need to get done within in the next week.

However, I can say that I do enjoy the freedom of college.  I do miss my friends from high school that went away to college, but making friends at Baruch took a little time but it is coming along now.

Hey I am Bridget, I am an Italian American. Family and friends are something I hold really close to me.  I love going to the beach, cooking and watching movies.   I love the summer because its warm and I love the ocean.  I was born and raised on long island so coming to Baruch everyday is a little bit of a hassle, but not too bad.  I love long island because the city can be a little crazy at times and the island is more relaxed in my opinion.

So far college is going as expected.  Going to a mainly commuter school I thought it would be difficult to meet people and hangout but it turns out it is not so bad.  Most of my professors are tolerable; I did not really expect my classes to be that entertaining.  However some of them actually are. I have learned that it is not what class you take but what professor you have that makes the class.  I am most likely majoring in marketing but nothing is definite right now.  I have not joined any clubs yet because I want to get through the first semester, so maybe next semester I will look into the clubs at Baruch.

My playlist is very diverse. I personally like all different kinds of music and I am very open to new music i don’t tend to stick to one kind. My Family members all like different types of music so that is why I have learned to love so many different kinds. My music changes on the particular mood that I am in at the time, music has the ability to set a mood or charge any emotion you have. I love to run so I listen to upbeat music a lot but I also am a commuter and on my down time on the train to and from school I like to unwind with more of a relaxing style of music. I like motivational music to get me through a tough day or week because it keeps me going when i need it most. I also believe in living your life to the fullest because you only live once so a lot of my music is based around that theme. To describe yourself in just ten songs is a hard thing to do because I don’t personally have a set personality because my life continues to change and so do my favorite songs. But music will always be in my life because music makes you fell not alone in the world because a song shows you that someone is probably feeling the same way you are at a time.
