Subject: Question concerning semester grade

Professor Smith,

Hello! My name is Kia Tolentino, I am one of the students in your Tuesday 4:10 lecture class. I just have a question regarding my semester grade. Though I have been marked with a B- in your class, I have looked over all of my graded material and reread the grading policy in the syllabus, which all state that I should be receiving an A in your class. Would it be possible for me to schedule a meeting with you during office hours in order to discuss this issue? I would just like to understand why I received this grade or resolve the issue if I had received it wrongly. Thank you for your time.

My group and I chose social networking as our main topic as well as our various subtopics because we found them to be most pertinent to us as first semester freshmen at Baruch. During this day and age, the internet but more specifically social networking is crucial to one’s daily lifestyle. It can be important in serious situations such as government and health issues, providing information that is very literally vital simply through the click of a mouse. It can keep one educated in current events as it is simple to access, covering all topics from sports to the arts. For people our age especially, it has become inter graded into our life style, as shown per scientific studies and excessive selfies. As college students specifically, moreover, it has become more crucial than ever. Most of the information or work required for our classes is online, such as access to making appointments with the writing center or even this freshman seminar blog post.

The process of presenting our group blog seemed fairly relaxed as it was only in front of a few of our peers whom we have come to call friends. I was rather confident as I knew the material well enough on my post and had presented before in high school. In all honesty, I did not learn much about myself as I had done this before and felt the same as I had presenting previously. Watching my peers present was a new experience, since they had come from other schools and learned different methods in which I was able to learn from them. They had taught me new things I can do while presenting, things I should not do while presenting, and things that I do not notice I do while presenting that I noticed they had executed.
