The Rubin Museum:
In all honesty, I didn’t learn a whole lot during the trip to the Rubin Museum, but the trip in itself was interesting.
In the museum, we learned about different Asian cultures and religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. I learned about the different “gods” or higher people that Buddhists looked up to and all the different lessons that each art piece in the museum taught.
At the same time, I felt bored after the first few art pieces because I felt that all the artwork looked very similar to every other work and it became repetitive. I couldn’t really tell the differences between the different works of the Buddhists and Hinduism.
I don’t know if I would recommend someone to go to this museum for fun, but I would definitely recommend it if someone is doing research on Asian arts and cultures.
The Weather:
Something that describes my experiences at Baruch so far is “The Weather”. Baruch is a commuter’s school, so as a commuter, the weather is a very important part of my life at Baruch. I began to realize that if the weather is nice, then I feel positive and willing to spend time in Baruch. Then, I also realized that if the weather is bad, I hated spending the time at Baruch because of the dread to commute back home.
There has only been two days where it has rained but as the weather is getting colder and colder, I think the weather will only add to the negativity of all the cramped work and tests at the end of the semester.
