I was doing a nation wide article about tobaccos during the New York Times project. The reason why we chose this topic is because Baruch has a special campaign named Clean Space in order to promote positive health behaviors and a tobacco-free campus. We want to relate our work to the daily school life and help students who smoke realize how harmful smoking could be. The smoking rate now in New York is 4.0% below the national average. We hope that through our articles, we could further lower down the smoking rate and transform Baruch into a real smoking free campus.
