Jin Sung Lee- New York Times “Front Page” Project BLOG Post #2

  1. We did like 1 articles each fort he group project and put them together. We shared our project by presenting one article each person in order.
  2. I was nervous. I am always nervous when I am about to do presentation in any classes. I wanted to do our groups presentation quick so I won’t be nervous.
  3. When I was presenting I learned that I might be talking in low voice so I need to speak louder. I also need to speak more clearly and have more confidence presenting to the class.
  4. Other groups did it like our group. They talked about one article each person. Spoke clearly and loudly.
  5. I was able to understand what others were saying about their projects. I was nervous when I was listening to other presentations before ours. I was comfortable and was able to understand better about other presentations after my group presented our project.
  6. I had lot to learn from my classmates. Almost all of them were better than me in presenting their projects to the class. They spoke clearly and I was able to hear their voice without any problems. I hate my accent..

“Twitter’s Biggest Risk? Losing You”

Twitter has expanded its employees to about 2000. However, this is not as important as having good quality of users. The quality of people’s post became a risk factor for Twitter. What that means is that if people do not post interesting things, then fewer people will visit the site and see the advertisements. To expand, Twitter is hoping to grow from other markets too in the rest of the world. However this will not be easy, as there are other companies, like Line(foreign social media site), that are growing as well and it will be competitive.

“The Numbers Behind Twitter” by NICK WINGFIELD

Similar to many companies, Twitter is growing fast but is not making good profit. Its revenue was $28 million in 2010, $106 in 2011, and $317 in 2012. Twitter also lost $67 million in 2010, $128 million in 2011, and $79 million in 2012. Most of the revenue comes from advertising. 85% of the revenue comes from advertising and 65% of that comes from mobile devices. Twitter’s active users are mostly not from the United States. 23% of users are from the United States and 77% are from the rest of the world. To make its business more successful, Twitter is struggling to expand further the world.

Jin Sung Lee Blog Post #1

The first picture shows where I came from. I came from Korea seven years ago. When I think about back then I realize how much I have changed and improved from then. The second picture is a calculator. My favorite subject is math, and it interests me. I may fall a sleep in any classes but never in math because almost everything I learn there is interesting. When I get home on weekdays, I enjoy playing computer games. That is why the third picture is a computer. I enjoy many games, including League of Legends, Sudden Attack, Star Craft, and many other games. I do have other things like xbox360 and wii but I have never played them, only my little brother plays them. I have not played them because they do not interest me and I only enjoy games on computer. The next three pictures are my favorite foods. They are Korean, but I enjoy other foods too, like pizza and hamburger. These foods, in order, are called kimbab, galbi, and bibimnaengmyun. The last one is spicy but it is awesome. Eating them together for a meal would make me so happy. Just thinking about it right now makes my mouth water and makes me hungry. The next picture is a picture of studying. I always hated studying at home. But I realized that I need to start studying at home in order to be more successful in College. I do not like it but I will start getting use to studying at home and hopefully be comfortable doing it later on. The last picture is of course, my favorite, money. Honestly, I want to major in accounting, not because I want to, but because I heard you can make lot of money. I would really have  any job that would make me lot of money. I do not really have a dream of what I want to become but to get really rich. So much money that I will feel like I am not spending any money when I am everyday. This probably will not happen but who knows, I may become a billionaire in the future.
