Michelle (Chey) Haima: New York Times “Front Page” Project BLOG Post #2

  • Describe the process of sharing your project.
I liked presenting my project. I feel like our group communicated and worked well together to create our presentation. We all new our topics well and presented them well individually.
  • What was the experience like?
A bit nerve racking, but overall pleasant.
  • What did you learn about yourself?
I learned that I may not be the best presenter, but I also don’t think I’m the worst and there is room for improvement.
  • Describe the process of watching your peers present their projects.
I like listening to the different topics and a lot of the news articles were news I haven’t heard of until the presentations and I felt like my peers presented their articles well.
  • What was the experience like?
The experience was interesting and at least I was not bored through any of the presentations.
  • What did you learn from them?
I learned a lot of new things that are occurring in the world currently.

I love the beach and was born in Honolulu, Hawaii (The Seaside By The Kooks). So, it’s not huge shock that I am also an avid surfer. When I was about 8, I moved to Potomac, Maryland and lived there until the last year of high school (The Suburbs by Arcade Fire). After that I moved to Tokyo, Japan, where I studies for a semester at Waseda University (Tokyo Drift by Teriyaki Boyz). I love music and interned at the 9:30 club in Washington DC where my favorite show I watched was by the band, Bastille (No Angels By BASTILLE ft. Ella). Also, I’m mostly into Indie Rock Music and Electronic, but I also listen to classical music (Cinematic Orchestra – To Build A Home) a lot which seems to surprise a lot of people. I like how you can make a song with no words and still understand what the song is about. A few things I like to do is ride horses (Horses By Grand Hallway), play tennis (Hello By Martin Solveilg & The Dragonettes), and play guitar mostly covers of songs (Heartbeats Cover By Ellie Goulding).  Lastly, I thought I would put the last two songs I just recently downloaded just for fun (Run By Daughter LCAW Remix and Halcyon By Ellie Goulding).
