  1. Hi, my name is Nishat Mahfuz Chowdhury and I was born and raised here in New York City. The thing that is most important to me is my family. I’m the oldest of four children. It can be annoying being the oldest sibling at times and sometimes we do get into arguments, but at the end of the day I’m grateful that I have such a wonderful, loving family. I can’t imagine not having them around me all the time. I guess this is one of the reasons why I decided to go to college in the city. Besides my parents and siblings, there is another member in my family who’s very special to me and that is our cat, Minnie. We brought Minnie home when I was in seventh grade and we consider him as the seventh member of our family. I love to hang out with my friends. My closest friends are all from high school. Although we’ve all separated our ways, we all still keep in touch. The fifth photo on this slideshow is of an event which took place earlier this year. The photo is of some of the members of my high school Muslim Student Association, or StuyMSA for short. This group played a huge role in my life and still continues to do so. This is the group where I met some of my closest friends. StuyMSA has shaped me as who I am and has a special place in my heart. The photo after this one is of the bridge to my old high school. I decided to include this photograph because although I struggled at Stuyvesant High School, I am grateful to all the staff and students who helped me get to where I am. The seventh photo on this slideshow is a photograph I took for a photography class. I love to take photos of almost anything. I wouldn’t consider myself as an expert or anything but I just enjoy capturing moments. Finally, the last photograph is of Baruch College as you all probably recognize. I included this photograph and made it the last one on this slideshow because this is where I am today. I hope to achieve my goals and make my dreams come true with the help of this college.

Hey this is Jeffrey. I created a playlist which completely, accurately, and fully describes who I am with no error whatsoever.
The first song is “Semicolon.” This song is sung by a seemingly clumsy person who mistakens colons for semicolons. Sometimes I feel like I’m the kind of guy who does something stupid and never realize it till the end.
The second song is “Forever Young.” This speaks for itself, even though it’s impossible, I would like to make the best of my youth.
The third song is “Let It Be.” I’m a simple guy, if anything isn’t going right, I just go with the flow.
The fourth song is “The Lazy Song.” Don’t you ever have those days where you just stay home and do nothing. It’s the best feeling ever after tiresome days.
The fifth song is “Fragments of Time.” Memories are what makes everything you do have meaning. I like having memories with friends that one day I’ll look back to.
The sixth song is “Not Afraid.” Once again, this speaks for itself. I’m generally not afraid of much, but if there is something I’m afraid of, I’m not afraid to face it.
The seventh song is “Friday.” I mean who doesn’t like waking up 7 in the morning and eating cereal? And EVERYONE likes to get down on Fridays. Clearly defines my life 100%.
The eighth song is “Daylight.” This jaunty song speaks to me because it’s such a random, uplifting song. I like to stay happy and bright, no matter the situation to make the best of it.
The ninth song is “Slow Ride.” Take it easy. I hate rushing for things and I usually work slowly to minimize mistakes.
My last song is “Keep Your Head Up.” Even through dark times, or even just piles of homework that make you want to give up, you should keep your head up. Everything will eventually turn out fine.
I’m just a simple guy who wants to live a fun and happy life. Thanks for reading.

Hi, my name is Jeun Woo Kang but most people call me Peter. I’m a freshman at Baruch College and my intended major is accounting or finance. I think these eight pictures I have chose best represents who I am. The first picture is my profile picture, I don’t think there’s nothing more to say about that. The second picture is map of South Korea, where I was born. The third picture is the picture of South Ferry that goes to Staten Island from the city. I was raised in Staten Island most of my life and a place I can call home. The fourth picture is a picture of my high school, “Susan E. Wagner High School”. The fifth picture is from 2-3 years ago when my friends and I decided to play in a basketball tournament, let’s just say we didn’t play too well. The sixth picture is my favorite book, a book that I can relate to in a way and the seventh picture is the picture of my favorite team from my favorite sport. Finally, the last picture is where I currently am, a student at Baruch College.

  4. Hey, it’s Linh here.
There are no songs that could speak to who I am so I’ll just tell you a little bit about myself. Before you see my playlist, I have to tell you that when I listen to music I concentrate on the melody and the rhythm. The lyrics doesn’t mean too much to me. It’s probably because ever since I was little I’ve been listening to songs in English. Obviously I didn’t understand any of the words but that didn’t stop me from singing or dancing to them.
The first CD I got was a Britney Spears album. “Oops!…I Did It Again” was my favorite song for months. Listening to it now, I can’t really tell you why I liked it so much but I still know the song by heart.
Later, my friend got a Shakira album. I spent hours at her apartment, dancing to Shakira hits. “Whenever, wherever” was the best! Though we couldn’t dance like Shakira.
You might know “The Ketchup Song”. In Europe, there was a time when I heard this song wherever I went! Also it has a really famous choreography which I never managed to learn because I’m not really good at dancing. It’s pretty simple though. And the song is just hilarious.
At the age of 10 I started to take piano lessons. At first I didn’t like it but I gradually became a fan of classical music. Chopin is my favorite composer. Although I’ve never learned to play “Nocturne in C-sharp Minor”, I chose it, because it’s my favorite piece of classical music at the moment.
Somewhere in my house there’s a VHS of the Barbie version of “The Nutcracker”. It was one of my favorite “movies” for a long time and I really liked the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”. I’ve never seen the ballet so if any of you is interested, we could go together.
As I grew up I became a “rebel”. I wanted to be a tough girl so I listened to bands like Paramore. This period didn’t last long, but I still like “Misery Business” a lot.
Although I acted like a rebel, secretly I listened to songs like Rihanna’s “Umbrella”.
In 9th Grade I took up the French course in high school so in order to practice the language I listened to a lot of French songs. “Voyage, voyage” is one of them. It’s a classic.
Even though I don’t pay attention to the lyrics when I listen to music, I still like rap a lot. I know it’s weird but I find it pleasing even without concentrating on the meaning. Eminem’s “Mockingbird” is an all time favorite.
Finally, I’m also an EDM fan. EDM festivals are awesome. There’s a really good one in Hungary and it’s much cheaper than e.g. Electric Zoo. Lately, I’ve been listening to “You Make Me” by Avicii a lot. I hated it at first, but then I changed my mind.

Above is the link to my pictures that I think can represent what kind of person I am.

I am a Taiwanese girl with two awesome loving parents that I think are the cutest ever, they always encourage me to do the best but never force me to be the best.

I have two older brothers that both graduated from Baruch and they think that the most entertaining thing in their lives is making fun of me.

I have a husky named Sushi, who is the cutest, sneakiest, and dumbest dog with a mean face the can scare a kid to cry and scream by the sight of him, and it makes me proud to be able to tell people that he can play dead and do bunch of cool tricks.

Sleeping is like a habit, I can fall asleep whenever I feel comfortable, if you have classes with me, you can always find me sleeping at some point during the lecture.

I LOVE food, even my facebook is named with “Lovesfood” and my phone has hundreds of pictures of food too. I love it the most when I get to eat with my friends and family, I feel that things just taste a lot better when you are with people you love.

I play the violin and the piano. I took piano lessons when I was in third grade and learned violin in high school senior year. Even though I only have two years of piano lessons, I manage to learn pieces of music by myself, such as River Flows In You by Yiruma.

I like sweets too, not so much for candies, but more for snacks and chocolates. I have this drawer that I refer to as my “snack storage”, I always refill it once I feel it’s too empty. Whenever I feel down, just by looking at my snack storage that is filled with my favorite snacks I can feel recharged again, and so far, I believe I am successful at preventing my brothers knowing the existence of my snack storage.

This picture of kids is taken at a prep school where I have worked this whole summer for 7 weeks. I love kids, and each day as I grade through all their homework, I can see their improvements little by little and it makes me feel lucky to be able to witness their growth. From the youngest of 5th graders to the oldest of high school seniors, every day I face the challenge of finish grading all their homework on time, and every day our friendship gets closer and stronger. Sometimes it makes me think that maybe I could become a teacher one day, or maybe not.

The last picture is where I am currently working, it’s a fried chicken store that is very famous in Taiwan and this one is the first to open in the United States. We also have other food other than fried chicken, such as crispy tofu, sweet potato fries, fried Oreos, and many more to come. Feel free to come visit me during my working hours 🙂

    Thank you for reading.

  6. Hey everyone! My name is Devanshi Shah. I made a slideshow of photos which expresses me in the best way possible through images.

    http://www.photosnack.com/F5FF7D97C6F/pti0v5sf

In the first collage, the picture with my father was taken at one of my favorite Asian fusion restaurant called: Tangra Masala, a year ago. The picture with my brothers was taken at Rockerfeller Center approximately 9 years ago. I am the youngest and only daughter in the family. The picture with my mother was taken last year during a Diwali (Indian New Year) party. Diwali is one of my favorite holidays because it brings everyone together and the days simply seem to be brighter. It makes me feel closer to my family and culture. The second collage shows some of my close friends. The first image in this collage is with a friend named Nicole. We do not see each other or even talk very often but our friendship of five years had not died out and I value it a lot. The second image shows two of my high school friends Heena and Rajveer. It was taken in QCM, after buying ourselves frozen yogurt, a very normal thing to do for us. The third image is with my friend Suryagayatri Shreelatha. She goes by the name of “Surya,” but I always call her by her full name because I absolutely love how it sounds and rolls of the tongue. We became close friends in senior year through dancing. We performed together in ours school’s Talent Show. I love the fact that I can instantly reconnect with each one of them. The next collage of 12 pictures perfectly shows my love for food. I love making and eating foods. Deserts NOT sweets, Chocolate but NEVER dark, and most importantly hot NOT mild-these three things best explain my choice of foods. My birthday cake was made by my mother and it means the world to me, because she has never made decorated a cake like that for anyone else in the family. Nutella=Chocolate=Love + being with the sticks reminded me of my childhood. I made the Oreo Fudge Bars (top right picture), the lasagna (third down the first column), weirdly heart-shaped cake (last row), and the “I LOVE YOU” cupcake. Chipotle=Tabasco=HOT=Love. I would be willing to try anything I can eat as long as it follows my religious’ values. I follow Jainism. Vegetarian not Vegan; No root vegetables such as carrots, onions, and etc.; No cheese; Supposed to be living off of food necessary for living and harms the least amount of living beings including the tiniest bacteria. I love how intricate the designs of mehandi (Heena tattoos) can become, and actually love the smell of it. It derives from the eucalyptus plant. I like rings a lot and jewelry in general as well. Always loved Mickey & Minnie Mouse. My horoscope sign is Pisces, two fishes jumping towards each other. I was never a fan of tattoos until two years ago. I want to get a tattoo similar to that image of the dolphins, on my left shoulder, on the back of my neck, or right above my left ankle. I came across this quote about a year ago, and it has stuck with me ever since. I found absolute truth with what this quote says, based on past events from my life. Don’t forget to listen to the music in the background. It is the song “Daylight” by Marron 5. This song is boosting in every way, the lyrics, rhythm, and melody. This song brightens up my mood at any given time.
