First Three Months-Abigail Cherubin

This is the best way I can represent my first months in Baruch, and it can hold true for the next upcoming years, as well as the rest of life. Stepping into college as a freshman, most things are laid out for you, however it is based upon your decisions. This is highlighted in the bubble that says “Decisions, decisions….” my whole entire experience of these first three months are based on the choices I make whether its, going to school or not, skipping class or not, completing homework or not, and passing or failing, college is reflects on the decisions you make. What should also be noticed is that these words are coming from inside the maze. This represents my first steps of college, the miles left I still have to go to reach the end, or obtaining a profession which is best suited for me. The many bumps, or challenges in the journey ahead are shown we the dead ends which in turn, make me retrace my steps and take a different path. The maze itself symbolizes the complexity of college life and beyond. Hopefully, with the right decisions, motivation, and abundance of support I will be able to reach the end and acquire my goals.

Essay Clarification

Dear Professor,

This is Abigail Cherubin and I have a few questions regarding the homework you have assigned. In the instructions for the essay you have outlined, states we must describe one social problem related to the themes of the course and employ empirical research. However, I do not understand the specifics of this essay.

With all the works we have done so far in the semester, should I choose a social  problem we’ve identified in the course? Or are you asking to choose my own topic  to do research on? Also, in my essay, should I incorporate a text or several texts we have read?

I would greatly appreciate it if you reply as soon as possible. If there is free time in your schedule, may I meet you in person instead to discuss the details of this assignment. The clarification would aid in understanding the material to be presented. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Abigail Cherubin

My group decided to choose Business as our overall theme. With the economy taking a huge turn, the effects can be seen in a company’s finances. Also, businesses affect us in every dimension, everyday of our lives. Without it, America would not be the powerhouse it is today. All of our articles have to do with money and how it affects people globally and locally. We also take a look at how companies view themselves and how the outside world views them. For example, in one of the articles chosen, ebay does not think that its revenue was great. However, an investor will see that their stocks were great this quarter. The different aspects of businesses in each article show how it fits into our theme.

As a member, I was the administrator for my group. As the administrator I was also the leader of the group. It was up to me to oversee every action the members of my group did. With my say as final, we made decisions of what we wanted to do. Additionally, I had to make sure everything flowed with our final product. Taking measures to contact every member, together we figured out how the project would developed.

Growing up, I listened and watched a lot of news, therefore I understood what I was doing. It is up to journalists to write comprehensive and accurate articles. Taking the time to understand the news is not difficult, especially if you experience what is happening or notice how it affects your own life. If everyone starts paying attention to the news, soon more people would be more informative of the world around them.

Hi everyone!!! My name is Abigail Cherubin and I have just began my college life here at Baruch. If you take the time to know me you will realize that you can describe me by tow words: fun and optimistic! Born and raised in New York all my life, I have experienced so many things in a short amount of time. I have traveled to many places such as France, Florida, Bahamas, Atlanta and recently I went to Cancun in Mexico.

If you take a lot through this slide, you’ll see I am a very outgoing person, though at first glance I may seem shy. Fun is written all over me because I live life to my fullest! I don’t necessarily trying my hardest, but certainly enjoying it all the way! It might explain a lot of the funny and sometimes scary looking photos on here. I also love anything to do with the arts. I love singing, drawing, and if you convince me enough I’ll also try out acting!

Everything you see here will mostly wrap me up in a shell. I love hanging out with my friends and family because the bring happiness into my life! I love bringing smiles to people’s faces and I hope I will bring it to yours as well.

Hope you guys enjoy!!!
