Blog Post 2: NY Times Project

Our NY Times project revolved around the theme of cultural relations in the real world and Baruch. We chose this topic because we looked at each other and at a glance, we are all a different color, a different race. We come from different backgrounds and it was very much relevant to how our communities are like internationally, locally, and educationally. We chose articles from the New York Times that pertained to cultural struggles and ethnic strife in retrospect. We chose these articles to provide emphasis on the importance of ethnic acceptance and integration. At Baruch, we see many diverse cultures and each follow different traditions. Instead of animosity, we thrive as a school and community. This is not so true outside of our school. Locally and internationally, there is still racial discrimination and cultural bias. It is important to notice the changes and adaptations of our communities. We used those New York Times articles to become more up to date on the struggles of race and how cultures are changing to incorporate every person of each tradition.
