I went to the Rubin Museum for my enrichment workshop. Although it did not really resonate with me on a personal level, it did inspire me in a few ways. The pieces in the exhibit encouraged me to look more into interesting details and symbolism as most of the artwork were based on those aspects. It also encouraged me to be more open to other cultures and learn about their religion. I also really enjoyed the prayer room as well. It was constructed really well and had a constant humming sound coming from somewhere that was cool even though it kinda creeped me out at first. It was unfortunate that we weren’t able to see the whole exhibit (especially the sky exhibit 🙁 ) but I enjoyed my time there and learned quite a lot.

Brian’s blog post #3
My experience at Baruch College thus far has been a great one! I’ve found out about so many cool clubs (such as fusion) and met many amazing people throughout this semester. Although college brings a heavier load of work, it does give you more free time and I was glad when I realized this. I like being more independent and being in control of my schedule. However, one thing I did hate was my daily commute. Especially in cold weather. It is nearly three hours, has multiple transfers, and I would have to wake up hours earlier than when my classes actually started. I also regret not working harder on my class assignments. I will take everything I learned from this semester in and pick up the pace for the next upcoming spring semester. Even if that means that I will have to give up precious sleep for it… 🙁
Brian’s blog post #2
I was part of a group called Style Society: A Global Revolution. We picked the topic of fashion in order to show how diversity in our school and around the world may affect many aspects of style/fashion. I had found two sources that pertain regionally to the topic of fashion. The first source I had used was an article that tells us of a new law that governor Andrew M. Cuomo may sign that would make young models under the age of eighteen to be considered as child performers. This would mean that young models would have many limitations put on them and that many fashion designers would be very discouraged from choosing them over more mature models. I had also used another article that just basically talks about events and sales going on this week. It talks about many new stores opening up, such as a Uniqlo in Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn, and many different promotions going on right now. I had picked my articles to show how fashion may affect a bunch of different people, the people that not only buy into it but also the people that work for it, and to inform readers about what is going on right now in the world of fashion.

The Life of Brian Kim
FRO Blog 1 <~ (8 Image Slideshow)
Hey guys! This is an eight image slideshow that describes my life and what I like to do. It doesn’t really explain my WHOLE life, but you’ll get the general ideas from these pictures hopefully. The first picture is a picture of me! That small asian girl next to me touching my face is my best friend Song. It was taken in my room a few hours before I left for vacation in the summer of 2012. The second picture is of a place that I would really like to live in one day. I have visited South Korea many times before and I have family there. I really like it there because it is more modern, clean, and…well..the people are nicer haha. I wish to live somewhere near Seoul, the capital. The third picture I put up to show that I love to sleep! Who doesn’t love to sleep?!?!? Sleep is one of the best things ever and I love to sleep in my spare time. However, if you see me dozing off in class or something, please kindly wake me up. The fourth picture is of a karaoke place. One of my favorite things to do is to hang out with my friends at a karaoke room. It sounds more fun than you think. It brings all my friends together and I have so many cherished memories of going to karaoke with my friends, especially from this summer. The fifth picture is to show that I love to travel. Whether it be by plane or boat or whatever, I just love to visit many cool places. I really like going to warm vacation spots too, like the Dominican Republic and Mexico! The sixth picture is to explain that I like to play video games. Some of my favorite genres would be fighting, jrpg, simulation, and more. I like Street fighter, Darkstalkers, League of Legends, and Animal Crossing. I don’t have too much time to play video games anymore but I still do occasionally when I’m really bored. The seventh picture is of a Kpop idol named Hyorin!!!! Hyorin is the leader of a Kpop group called Sistar. She is my favorite idol and she has been nicknamed as “Korea’s Beyonce” for her amazing voice. She has a very compelling charm when she sings and I love her laugh.I like all of Sistar but she is my ultimate favorite. The last picture I have in this set is a photo booth picture of me and my friends from last week at Dave and Busters. We always have fun and I have them to thank for all the great times I’ve had this summer. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am today and I couldn’t ask for better friends (p.s., there are more friends that I didn’t put pictures of because I couldn’t find pictures with them in time). I hope to make more friends like this at my time in Baruch. Thanks for reading!
