Vanessa, in a Nutshell (Repost)

These pictures describe who I am. The first picture shows how I was a diva as a child, I loved dressing up, and I was sassy; most of you can see that I haven’t changed much! The second picture is a perfect way to describe the current me- classy and dressed up but I never in denial of my sport and the fact that I am an athlete. The third picture shows three generations of strong, independent women from youngest to oldest. My Abuela and Ma are the most phenomenal women in my life. They raised me to be everything I am today and have shaped most of what I will become, my love for them is unconditional. The fourth picture is of me and “B-Love”, my mini-me, my headache, my world- my brother all in one. The picture perfectly describes our relationship and goofy tendencies. The fifth picture is of me playing basketball, which is not only a passion to me- it has become a lifestyle. I am a different person when I play, my soul is freed. This sport has given me my competitive edge and it has been a reflection of the power of diligence. The sixth picture shows me acting onstage in one of my school’s plays. I have a particular love for acting, and if I had enough experience to pursue a career in it, I would. The seventh pic was taken this past summer on my vacation to Dominican Republic. I’m a risk-taker, so I believe that facing your fears (and surviving after) is one of the most beautiful things in life. The last and final picture shows complete happiness with my fHi, I’m Vanessa 🙂avorite quote. If God blessed us with so many positive things in life, the least we can do is find a reason to laugh and smile each day… I hope you find something to smile about today 🙂

Erika’s Passions, In Under Four Minutes

Hooping is my main passion.  A circle is never ending, although each time around I seem to learn something new. In the last year hooping I’ve learned to laugh at myself, to persevere, have determination, and of course balance. When I am in the circle, nothing else matters. It is zen, it is expression, it is just enough hippie to make it impossible to be mad and I love every minute of it. I do a bunch of other stuff as well like cycling, rockwall climbing, swimming, hip hop dance, I fenced for four years, and I’m kind of an adrenaline junkie. So that’s me, in under 4 minutes!

I have created this playlist with my all time favorite songs. All of these are songs that I can relate to. There’s a theme in this playlist and that’s rebellion. You might notice that Jewel has the most songs in my playlist, well that’s because she’s my favorite artist! I made a playlist because the songs speak for themselves, I don’t have much more to say.

Hi, I’m Naomi and I’m your peer mentor :D

Hi LC 11!

Music-

A picture is worth a thousand words:

My friends, my family
My friends, my family
I joined Lexicon this year and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. We’re (except for me) a very multi-talented group so something interesting is always going down :D.

My LC. LC 16. The first friends I made at Baruch and I’ve grown very close to some of them. We all love to eat so we went to Carmine’s and the food was amazing.

I LOVE FOOD!! I went to visit a friend with a friend,Rishika, at the University of Cincinnati and we went crazy at their dining hall. This is what we had for breakfast! Freshman 15 is no joke. Pancakes, eggs, brownies, cereal, hot chocolate, sausage, biscuit, fruit and some other things that I don’t remember. We took up most of the table 0_0

Being an Admissions Ambassador has changed me forever. I’ve only been there a year and they’ve become my family. Even if they wanted to, they wouldn’t be able to get rid of me.

I like henna.

I went to Japan (Okinawa to be exact)  for the first time over the summer and had a blast! I went on the American Airbase, went zip lining and had a great time.

Peiyi’s first blog

sharing my life

Hey everyone, this is Peiyi, I know I don’t talk much in school,  but I’ll introduce myself through this blog therefore you can get to know about me.

I was born and raised in China, and I came here with my family few years ago. We live in Queens and I liked it here. I went to Cardozo High school and met a lot of friends,  they made my high school years the best memory so far. When I’m around them, I can be really crazy and laughing like there is nothing to worry about if they are with me. Friendship has always been the most important to me.  I like to travel and I have been to few other states before. My favorite state is Boston, it is very clean over there, and people that I met were nice too. If I can, I’ll  move to Boston and spent my adulthood there. I also like to have a job in the summer, I worked with little children and in the nail salon before. Getting to associate with other people through work have made my life more colorful, therefore I always enjoy my work. Music can always comfort me in someway. My favorite artist is G-dragon, the leader of Korean group called Bigbang. I like his music, his talent, his smile, and almost everything about him. If you guys get to know him, he’ll become your favorite too. Lastly, as you all know, I study at Baruch College,  I like my LC classmates, and I hope to have a nice job in the future.

Meet David

Hi, I’m David, and here is me wearing sunglasses and pretending to be cool.

I tend to be goofy all the time.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t be serious at times. (Well, at least I tried.)

I love technology.

I love making music.

I love acting and being on the stage.

And of course there’s nothing I love more than being with my friends!

Last but not least, I’d like to say I stand against bullying or any form of hatred. I may or may not come off as weird and shy, but there’s still a lot about me that I haven’t shared with anyone yet. I’m excited to take on the next chapter of my life — college and hopefully get as much as I can out of it. AND that won’t happen without having great friends at the college. I wish each one of you would give me a chance and let us get to know each other better. 🙂

The Life of Brian Kim

FRO Blog 1 <~ (8 Image Slideshow)

Hey guys! This is an eight image slideshow that describes my life and what I like to do. It doesn’t really explain my WHOLE life, but you’ll get the general ideas from these pictures hopefully. The first picture is a picture of me! That small asian girl next to me touching my face is my best friend Song. It was taken in my room a few hours before I left for vacation in the summer of 2012. The second picture is of a place that I would really like to live in one day. I have visited South Korea many times before and I have family there. I really like it there because it is more modern, clean, and…well..the people are nicer haha. I wish to live somewhere near Seoul, the capital. The third picture I put up to show that I love to sleep! Who doesn’t love to sleep?!?!? Sleep is one of the best things ever and I love to sleep in my spare time. However, if you see me dozing off in class or something, please kindly wake me up. The fourth picture is of a karaoke place. One of my favorite things to do is to hang out with my friends at a karaoke room. It sounds more fun than you think. It brings all my friends together and I have so many cherished memories of going to karaoke with my friends, especially from this summer. The fifth picture is to show that I love to travel. Whether it be by plane or boat or whatever, I just love to visit many cool places. I really like going to warm vacation spots too, like the Dominican Republic and Mexico! The sixth picture is to explain that I like to play video games. Some of my favorite genres would be fighting, jrpg, simulation, and more. I like Street fighter, Darkstalkers, League of Legends, and Animal Crossing. I don’t have too much time to play video games anymore but I still do occasionally when I’m really bored. The seventh picture is of a Kpop idol named Hyorin!!!! Hyorin is the leader of a Kpop group called Sistar. She is my favorite idol and she has been nicknamed as “Korea’s Beyonce” for her amazing voice. She has a very compelling charm when she sings and I love her laugh.I like all of Sistar but she is my ultimate favorite. The last picture I have in this set is a photo booth picture of me and my friends from last week at Dave and Busters. We always have fun and I have them to thank for all the great times I’ve had this summer. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am today and I couldn’t ask for better friends (p.s., there are more friends that I didn’t put pictures of because I couldn’t find pictures with them in time). I hope to make more friends like this at my time in Baruch. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to Angela’s world

Hi everybody! I’m Angela but I think (hope) you know that:) I hope you get to know me a little better after this blog post!

This first picture shows where I use to live. Tenerife, Canary Islands. Beautiful place, but as you may see, very different to New York. Although I was born in Madrid and raised there until I was 10, I can say Tenerife is my home. I’ve lived some of my best moments in that island, met some of the best people I’ll ever meet. Tenerife will definitely be part of my life forever.

FAMILY. What an important thing. I have them to thank, for EVERYTHING.
This picture shows the 5 most important women in my life: my mom, Itziar, my sister Paula, my niece, Danielle and my two dogs, Chiqui and Cocó.
Let’s not forget about my brother (in-law). He’s one of the most important men in my life. He’s been part of my life since I was 10 years old and I cannot thank him enough for everything he’s done for me.

Here’s the other two: My father and grandfather.

My father is the main reason why I decided to move here to New York. Although he hasn’t been physically with me during these years, I’ve never felt his absence. He has been the best father I could have asked for.

This is my grandfather or as I call him, ‘Lalo’. Although he is no longer with me, his fighting, enthusiastic spirit stayed with me. He has been an inspiration.
Now lets talk about my friends. Family is everything for me but friends are too. These are my best friends. They drive me crazy (sometimes) but they have been by my side in the good and the bad moments. We like to have a good time, anywhere and everywhere. It could be going to the movies, laying down watching TV, going to the beach, shopping (by the way, all things that I like doing), as long as we are together. These pictures were taken the day of my 18th Birthday. It was my first birthday with them as I normally spend it here in New York and I have to admit; They really treated me like a princess!

These last two pictures are very important to me. They represent my present and future. Im ready to live this new chapter we’re all starting which looks like is going to be GREAT!! Lets do this!

Jakey P From Down The Block

http://grooveshark.com/playlist/Jakes+Inspirational+Tunes/90629966

Hello fellow LC11 classmates. My approach on this assignment was auditory, as I love utilizing my ears for pleasing sounds like music and such. The playlist I created, which I named: Jake’s Inspirational Tunes, speaks in the same way that I do, and I feel it adequately represents who I am. Each song represents a characteristic of mine, and I am excited to share these inner characteristics with my homies at LC11. Below is a list of each song, which is playable in the link I attached. Enjoy.

Apartment Story by: The National: This one is pretty basic. I was born in a suburban household and lived in one my whole life. My life story until now was at home. Currently my life story is an apartment story. And as time passes the story will continue to develop.

Blessed ft. Kendrick Lamar by Schoolboy Q: I am a very spiritual person. I cherish every day that I live, and I look forward to the next. I feel blessed in every aspect of my life, and I am proud that I can say that.

Byegone by: Volcano Choir: Most people don’t know what this word means, but it means “belonging to an earlier time.” I am jewish, and we follow customs and traditions that have been observed for thousands of years by other jews. In that aspect, many of the things that I do are byegone.

Daily Routine by: Joy Bada$$: Organization is always one of my top priorities, and to that respect my daily routine is very organized. I like having a plan going into my day, as I feel that can lead to the most enjoyable day.

Fashion Killa by: A$AP ROCKY: This one is also pretty simple, I’m a straight up Fashion Killa!

Fidelity by: Regina Spektor: Fidelity means faithfulness, and expressing loyalty and support to a cause. I return favors by expressing my loyalty to someone  for what they have done, and from that point I will be forever faithful to that person.

For Body and Kenzie by: Teen Daze: This one was not on the music site, so I have a link attached at the end of this section. This song doesn’t have any inner meaning, it is just spontaneous and fun, just like me. If you listen to any songs, listen to this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2DYofn3MbQ

Keel by: Volcano Choir: This artist loves weird worded songs. A keel is the foundation of a boat. In the ocean a boat need a strong foundation to support it through the rough waters. This foundation allows it to get from point A to point B. Because of my supportive foundation, which has developed over the past few years through my experiences, allows me to get from day A to day B, and beyond.

Luck of Mine by: Bishop Allen: As I said before, I cherish everyday, and that is because I feel lucky. This luck of mine not just gets me through time, but gets me through it enjoyably.

DNA by: Danny Brown: This song finishes off this playlist well. I am who I am and I will do everything in my power to improve myself, but some things are just meant to be. People need to think about what they have and not what they don’t have. All of us are different, quite different actually, and we all need to embrace and take advantage of those unique traits of ours.
