Vanessa Santana’s blog #2

I chose these articles because they were examples of prominent figures that relate directly to me: a female and Latinos. Nanette Lepore’s article was inspiring because she became so popular yet she was raised in a small Ohio town, by hardworking parents and she had a lot of domestic training (her love for sewing, for example). I come from a similar background and hope to have a similar success result. The second article made me even more proud to be Latina because it showed minority creativity and recognition in a popular field. Our group chose the fashion theme because of Baruch’s diversity and the wonderful sense and freedom of style people have here in New York City.
