The New York Times project was quite interesting because unlike previous projects, it was entirely on the computer and was easier than I thought it would be. My group’s theme is food because we all agreed that we all loved food so why don’t we do our project on something we love. I just want to include that the day we were forced to reserve a study room seemed tedious at first, but it became one of my favorite days of school because I got to know my group better. The process of sharing my project made me reminisce the days I would shake in fear standing in front of my class presenting my project. It kind of made me smile because I liked how I changed and I can actually have eye contact with people while I discuss my work. Although I am still nervous, I don’t dread the experience and I find it quite enjoyable at times. I learned that I say “like” a lot, which I have noticed before, but haven’t really been able to change. As I was watching my peers present their projects, I noticed that no one really seemed that nervous. Everyone was speaking at a decent volume and seemed to know what they were talking about. I learned that the subjects our professors discussed in class influenced two groups for their theme. There were some surprising facts such as a child selling for around 500 dollars and that organs have different prices depending on the location of the buyer. Overall, the experience was more like an ice breaker rather than a tedious project and was quite enjoyable.
