My first few months at Baruch feels like it has been a lot longer. From the 8 hour orientation during the summer, to Convocation day, to today its been a while. This meme is something that I find relatable. Going through the entire semester being stuck with the professors and the classes that Baruch chose and without having a say, was a big pain to deal with. As registration came around I made sure to pick classes with professors that got great ratings so as not to repeat what happened this semester. Registration is a fight to get into classes and the minute my allotted time opened up I enrolled so I wouldn’t get locked out. It’s really a fight to get into the classes and hoping your desired class doesn’t fill up by your registration time.

Monologue

Coming back from my first day of class. I get on the subway and I begin to think

Questions. So many questions…

Why do my classes suck?

Why can’t I understand the professor?

Why do I have so much work?

Why can’t I choose my own classes?

Why does everyone hate Math?

Why can’t my professor teach?

Why is there no social life?

Why can’t I choose my own classes?

Why does the food suck?

Why is there attendance?

Why does the elevator take so long?

Why can’t I choose my own classes?

Why are they obsessed with recycling?

Why am I taking a freshman class?

Why is everything due at the same time?

Why can’t I choose my own classes?

Why do the escalators only go up to 5?

Why does the day feel so long?

Why am I writing this the minute before it’s due?

Why can’t I choose my own classes?

Subject: Question on workshop assignment FRO 1000

Hi, Professer Tanni

I didn’t fully understand what it is exactly what we are supposed to do to fully complete the assignment on attending a workshop, If we could find a time this week to meet up and discuss it that would be great.

I believe these songs describe who I am. They talk about falling down and getting back up. No matter the circumstance. Instead of sitting and focusing on what happened it is best to get back up and keep moving with life. When things get tough and hard to deal with, I don’t sit and do nothing about it. I use those failures and bad times to propel myself forward. I use my failures in life as motivation to do better.

  1. Over my Head, The Fray
  2. Speed of Sound, Coldplay
  3. Bruises, Train
  4. Open Your Eyes, Snow Patrol
  5. What About Now, Daughtry
  6. 100 Years, Five for Fighting
  7. Better Days, The Goo Goo Dolls
  8. Show me What I’m Looking For, Carolina Liar
  9. Move Along, All American Rejects
  10. Go The Distance, Michael Bolton

The first song I chose is Over my Head by the Fray. In the first few lines it talks about things everything coming down which is how we all feel at times but then it turns out he just in over his head. The next song is Speed of  Sound by Coldplay. This song shows how we always keep climbing. Bruises by Train talks about our imperfections that make us who we are. Open Your Eyes by Snow Patrol shows that you don’t have to go through the tough times alone. The next song is what about now by Daughtry. This song shows us to not forget about what’s happening right before our eyes. The sixth song I chose is 100 years by Five for Fighting. This song reminds us that we have a limited amount of time in life and we have to make the most of it. The seventh song I picked was Better days by the goo goo dolls. This song reminds us that we could always start over with a fresh start. Show me what im looking for is just a song I like to listen to never put much thought into the lyrics. Move along is probably one of my favorite songs because the lyrics which talk about not focusing on the bad things but getting up and moving on, and the music. The last song is a classic Go the Distance from Hercules, which sums it all up that nothing can be achieved without putting in effort.
