Small Town Girl
I begin in Westhampton Beach, a small town on the east end of Long Island. I take the Hampton Jitney, a bus service running from Montauk to Manhattan. I wear a blue dress with flowers on it, a purple cardigan, blue flip flops and my new Electric sunglasses. It is 6:30 in the morning, I sleep in my seat on the two hour ride to 40th Street Manhattan.
Finally, the bus arrives. I hop off the bus with a small backpack. With my hair down, slightly wavy, with my sunglasses on I stroll down the busy streets to Starbucks, where I get an iced grande caramel latte. Since there are no nearby Starbucks in my hometown, I take this as a luxury. I continue to strut down the streets of New York, feeling confident and full of life. I arrive at Baruch for the first time, and I know I am where I am meant to be.
