Time is relative. One can spend their time comfortably and peacefully in the monotone cycle of their daily routine, and as every day melts into the next, time will speed up. You won’t notice it but a month will pass, and then a year, and without any benchmarks, without any variety, you will inadvertently graduate in a relative few minutes. Maybe that is what you want, to get this experience over with. But what you don’t realize is that your career will be the same thing all over again, a grind so similar from day to day that time will again speed up until you are about to be retired, once again perplexed as to how all this time flew by without you noticing. That will be you, atrophying in comfort and routine. But you have a choice. Put variety, randomness, and unexpected events into your life. Don’t settle for a peace of mind, but for a daily surprise. Challenge yourself in unexpected ways, do new things and fail for the sake of variety. Of course, one day you will stand there unsure whether you want that change in your life. At that moment, just remember, time is relative.
