LISTEN TO MY PLAYLIST HERE

Hi, Everyone! My name is XinJin Liu. I prefer people to call me Jin. I would like to use a list of songs to let you guys know a little bit more about me. By the way, feel free to check out the playlist. It’s really awesome. I’m a moderate Eminem fan. I can’t remember all the facts and albums of Slim Shady, but I do listen to a lot of his music especially in the morning because it can always wake me up that works even better than coffee. There goes my first included song Guts Over Fear. This hardcore rap encourages me that I can deal with any hardship I face because undergoing hardships is a part of everyone’s life and it’s up to you to live with fear or with guts over fear. I was born in China, and moved to USA until when I was 14. I wasn’t very excited about coming to USA because I couldn’t see why should I leave my friends and a place I already love  and move to a completely new country. However, I actually did have once found my passion for going to USA. I was so fascinated by Michael Jackson’s music and still am. Beat It has always been my favorite MJ song. Despite I didn’t understand the English lyrics back then, the beat is so catchy that you can fall in love with it right away. I thought that I can go to see a  Michael Jackson’s live concert when I come to USA, and I even dreamed about getting MJ’s autograph and brag about it to everyone I know. Unfortunately, Michael Jackson died before I even board a plane to USA. (R.I.P MJ) Now I think about my feeling when I came to USA was really ambivalent, partly unwillingness and excitement for unknown. Anyway, everything turns out fine now. I made new friends, learned a new language, familiarized myself with NYC, and much more good stuff waiting for me to explore. The third song I included is about New York sung by one of my favorite Chinese singer Joanna Wang. The fourth song is an opening song of a really interesting anime ATTACK ON TITAN, and I’m kinda a big anime fan. The fifth song as well as the sixth song are just two beautiful love songs that I believe most people will enjoy them very much. The seventh and eighth songs are from an American indie singer Mindy Gledhill. I really like her voice and songs that always lighten my mood. The ninth song is the theme song of the recent World Cup held in Brazil. I really love watching soccer, and I used to play a lot soccer in junior high. The last song is Bob Dylan’s Like A Rolling Stone. This song has inspired probably inspired generations since it released and I’m no exception in my generation. Especially, now I’m in college and soon will be independent from parents and live alone.

This a very interesting piece of writing. It shows how you faced so many obstacles in your life but you still managed to overcome them. There are a lot of events in my life similar to yours where I faced obstacle but I still managed to overcome them. I believe that life is a struggle and we don’t get through it alone and that’s why we seek the love and support of each other to overcome thing and bring change within ourselves.

Hi! This is a very interesting piece of writing! I Like it~~You tell a lot about your personal experiences and what you like and I kind of understand how you feel because I came to USA at 12 and I didn’t want to leave my friends either. Plus, I am a super anime fan. Let’s share some good ones sometimes.

    Hi Jin,

Your story and transition to the USA is very admirable. I too am a lifelong Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson fan. I have met and spoke with Janet several times and went to a few of her concerts; unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to see Michael in concert. He was an amazing performer and I am happy to hear that his music inspired your journey and transition in the USA!
