Being a college freshman, there are more things on my plate than ever before. Learning how to balance everything at once takes longer than I thought. Although I am managing better than I assumed I would, it’s all a work in progress. I have learned that you must sacrifice certain things and prioritize based on the timing you have. Each day really does get easier and I am adjusting slowly. Setting short term and long term goals for yourself is also a great idea and is helping me out a lot. I tend to keep a positive attitude and outlook so eventually everything should fall into place!

Announcements!
Hey guys,
Please read this in its entirety!
As you probably know, registration is approaching very quickly!! So quickly that next week’s FRO session has been switched from Communication Skills II to Academic Advisement. Those of you who were nervous to present your monologues now have an extra week to prepare 🙂
The Academic Advisement session will be a group session with 1-2 other FRO classes where representatives from the AA office come and speak to you all about registering for classes for the first time, what classes to take, etc.
WE WILL NOT BE MEETING IN OUR FRO ROOM. WE ARE MEETING @ 3-125.
In order to maximize this session, I require you all to plan your schedule for the Spring 2015 semester and email me a copy. Classes are already listed on CUNY First. I attached a planning grid that I have to use and submit every semester to my advisor (in the email I sent). You can choose to use it or not but I find it helpful. It allows you to plan up to five schedules. You are essentially competing with your fellow classmates for the same classes so it is always good to have back up schedules in case the initial classes you want gets filled. Planning multiple schedules might be a chore but it is worth it.
On CUNY First, log in. Then click SELF SERVICE. Then click STUDENT CENTER. Then click SEARCH FOR CLASSES. In the drop down menu, choose BARUCH for INSTITUTION, SPRING 2015 for TERM, and pick the appropriate SUBJECT (ex: ECO-Economics).
If you all need help planning your schedules, please email me this weekend! In the email, include your current courses so I could suggest possible classes for you to take in the spring based on what you are taking already. Also let me know if you are planning to enter Zicklin/Weissman/Public Affairs.
Here’s the pathways curriculum: http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/genedreqs/pathwaysatbaruch/
Good luck everyone!!
Best,
Lisa
