Majors and Minors Fair

img_5969

On November 10th I went to Baruch’s Majors and Minors Fair. I did’t stay very long because I was very sick (as you can see in this picture) but for the little bit of time that I was there, it was really informative.
I decided (although my decision is not set in stone) that I want to double minor in law and in business writing. I feel that law is always involved in everything “business” and that it can always be useful. Business writing also ties into this because if I can learn how to write a business contract AND know how law in contracts works, I think I will be set.
In all, the fair was very helpful to me because I had no clue what I wanted to minor in before the fair. I now know that I want to double minor and I hope that these minors will help me towards my goal.

On October 18th I went to the TEAM Baruch meeting to find out more information about it. I first became interested in joining back in the summer when I met some members at my orientation. The members always seem to have a smile on their face no matter what task they are assigned and are always very helful.

At the meeting, I learned that I would need to apply to the club in order to have a chance of joining. Then if I got accepted, I would need to be interviewed. After that, I would have to go on a group retreat on January 18th. This all interested me because if there was multiple steps and challenges to joining and hundreds of people were in the club, I knew it was worth joining.

I decided after the meeting that I would definitely join TEAM Baruch because I could not see a downside to joining at all. I hope I get accepted and I can be a “TEAM” member.

This past Sunday I went to the MET with my roommate Stephanie. We went to see art from A.D. I saw all kinds of works from Greece, Italy, Spain, Oceania, Africa and all over the world. My two favorite kinds of arts were the art from Medieval Times and from Oceania because they are much different from what I usually am exposed to.

The Medieval Art was more artifacts then paintings. It amazed me how knights would carry thirty pounds of armour on them and would still be able to fight in battle. I also loved the flags that were used in those times.

The art from Oceania also peaked my interest because instead of being made out of marble or being on a flat surface, the sculptures were made from wood and dyed. They also were birds and wildlife instead of people which I liked because it was different.
I really enjoyed my experience at the MET. I hope I can go back soon! imageimage
